Yeah I think Danny has been frustrated a bit in the NPL. He knows the huge task ahead to rebuild the squad and he also knows our budgets are probably nowhere near high enough to compete with the top 6 given the current lack of local talent and our geographical position. I think today's post match interview he hints at our inability to keep Joe Bunney, Pani and probably a few other players. Whether we like it or not we have to realise until we can find the next generation of Allison, Tinnion, Goose etc we are going to find this league much tougher and or expensive. For an ambitious manager like DG, managing an NPL side and languishing in the bottom half of the table for several years just isnt going to help his CV at all. Watched that interview and it seems clear that he would have liked more money for the better quality players over the last few months although the club can’t just be expected to find funds and build up debts. The sooner the stadium carry on is sorted the better as again yesterday we pull in a great crowd but don’t really have the facilities to capitalise. On the plus side we are getting a manager who obviously knows our budget limits but also has a greater knowledge of other players expectations and is quite happy to work within it Yes I agree that we cannot rack up debt. I do wonder if the board had decided the season was done so the likes of Bunney, Brookwell,Camron Gbadebo etc didn't need replaced and the money best kept for next season? It would make sense to me as a fan knowing we aren't going up or down. But for someone like Danny that would be frustrating as he will want to push on and aim for a top half finish and make his CV look that bit more impressive. I think times have changed and our club in it's current form is probably in the correct division. Anything higher is going to be a huge struggle and without significant increases to revenue, we are never going to sustain anything much higher. We have to accept that we are going to be a stepping stone club for lots of ambitious managers and players.

Lot of negativity.
A few might retire but the new manager will have good contacts and it's up to the club to do all it can to provide the new manager with a good competitive budget so he can persuade players to come.
Surely we must always be looking to gain promotion otherwise what is the point!
I do think Danny should have been given the extras to keep the likes of Bunney etc don't know the full circumstances but if it was just over a few thousand I think it would have been worth it to keep him happy. Decent player.

Decent player. While the clubs long term goals will be to push on we have to be realistic. For Reds to attract players from away we need to pay probably double what they can get near home. We don't have that kind of budget and unfortunately Annan beat us to a lot of the best local talent. Scottish league 1 is more appealing to players than the NPL.

I expect the board were pretty pissed off that Danny wasted all that money on Jamie Devitt. When funds are so hard to come by, it's very upsetting to see it squandered. You just can't afford to take a gamble when you are watching every penny.

That's football Martin. Signing players especially ex pros who are used to good wages and who are coming to the end of their careers is a gamble. We've had a few let downs over the years but Paul Stewart was a huge success at the time.

Whats done is done. With so many players set to leave and the club skint we need to give the new manager a helping hand and set up a player recruitment fund. I know that last years was in vain,at least we had a squad good enough to start with.

I'm hoping the club has 'a few irons in the fire' to bring more income in, the Supporters Groups are certainly doing their bit and hopefully another successful budget booster will generate a decent amount. We are not talking crazy amounts our annual turnover is only 330k so an extra 30-40k makes a huge difference

Barrow B team manager ? I mean I have zero inside info but we are expanding our back room staff as we transition to a more professional set up.
DG may have to travel to Manchester as to all intents and purposes Barrow is a Greater Manchester team that play in Barrow; almost all of the staff and BoD are based there.
This would be a good move For Danny.
PS Good Solid season from you guys back at this level now to wait on the new stadium which I fully believe will come to fruition eventually.

I was looking north of the border and wondered if Annan or Queen of the south jobs may come available depending on how the season ends. Think QoS are full time now so would be an excellent job for him. Danny should have plenty of contacts in Scotland too

I have heard the Queen of the South rumour with the added bonus of DG having already "approached" one of our players to join him there. Wonder who that is 🤔 No prizes for guessing. Rumours, dont you just love them.
