If he wasnt injured he would be back now I would definitely like another striker. The kid from Oldham looks promising but is only here for 6 month and an injury to Reilly and we will be screwed.

I think pre season has been very encouraging. Difficult to gauge the level of opponents though but I don't think reds could have done much more.
I think no matter what this season is a consolidation season and very unlikely we could compete with the top 4 or 5 sides straight away, Particularly Radcliffe and Macclesfield. But that said playoffs aren't an impossible task.
Still time yet, but I still would like to have seen a marquee signing. If for no other reason than to show the donors where their money has gone. It doesn't feel like £20k extra has gone into the playing budget at the moment and although I don't think another signing is desperately needed, I do worry people won't put in again in the future unless they see where their money has gone.

Jerome was on a top wage. so with the doners money to it i thought we could get some one in . i think bobby caroll stoping with the reds will cost the reds a bit more than last season

The Budget Booster money has been spread across the number of weeks in the season. No doubt the majority of the players have received an increase.
We have signed six.
Geography and £££ plays a massive part in our operations.

In the ideal world Danny would have got his man but Geography does play its part in travelling to play and train up to 3 times a week. That said I agree that it is no good throwing good money after a player who isnt committed to the club.
Trust Danny and when the time is right he will have the funds to secure the right player for the Reds.
Just hope we steer clear of injuries especially in the early partof the season sowe can consolidate after promotion.

Yeah it's a tough one really and like I said I don't really feel like the squads in bad shape. Nor do I believe 1 big signing will make a huge difference to where we finish in the league. I just worry future "budget boosters" may be less successful. I have total trust in Danny. Couldn't be happier with him as manager. Bringing a core of local lads through is the only way this club can survive long term imo. Due to our geography and budget restrictions it's absolutely imperative.

I understood that Bobby Carroll was going to a Conference North club, but our budget booster kept him at Borough Park . . . .

I believe the way the budget booster was pushed was done so in a way of saying “raising 20k will allow us to get a £500pw player for the season.” So far all of the local signings weve made dont seem to give the donations much value for money given Roxburgh and Wallbank were signed before the booster. Begs the question whats happening to the booster fund

Way above our level so probably very much a pipe dream but he is Injured currently so may need a club to get him fit at the very least and he will know DG.

In a fantasy football world we would be out there signing up anyone like Macclesfield and Radcliffe in reality we have managed to retain all players we wanted to stay and brought in lads with potential to improve accross the season, sometimes what you already have is better than risking a big money man (remember Jason Walker) As a footnote for those who donated to the booster,2 of the rewards were a pre match meal with the chairman and a question answer session with the manager where people will be free to discuss the funding of the squad. Finally looking forward to first game Saturday let's all get behind the team and hopefully start season with a win

Just been looking on soccer base, Jamie Devitt has hardly played the last 4 seasons, think that would be a big risk unless it was on a play and pay basis.
