Seen him on the pictures of Bamber Bridge’s friendly yesterday. Heard Fell prefers Aran Fitzpatrick who’s coming back on loan from Carlisle

No chance Brockbank miles ahead of fitzpatrick, maybe he didn't fancy playing for fell again or he has been offered more cash else where.

Don’t think the reds ever replaced Brockbank at left back since he was here, he had that really bad injury last season which finished him at Altrincham so just wonder whether that is putting teams off, played as a trialist for Bamber and to be honest if fit would prefer to have our own player then bring loanees in, but Fitzpatrick did well in the few games I watched him and could fit in well to Fells style of play

Would like to have got Brockbank back to the club, it looks at the moment as though the squad is going to be very light on numbers who are actually our players.

Distinctly unimpressed by the recruitment so far. I understand Hetherington & Allan are coming back on loan but we need experienced players so I hope Mr Fell has some irons in the fire.

Why do people assume that every player they want to play for the Reds wants to sign for us.
Players have a choice of where they want to play.

Correct, unfortunately like Mark Fell says it's a players market at the moment! Logistically we are not appealing to players out of the county but also our league finish last season won't entice many either. I think we will be OK though and build on last seasons finish, players will come but we may not be their first choice! Youth development needs to be a hot topic for the board and improve on decent work the RITC have started.

We lost NINE players from last season! Was never going to be an easy task to replace them due to our location. We were lucky that five of them; outstanding players were "local" We have signed four quality players (in my opinion), Mitchell, S'hurst, Nugent & Galloway. Listen to all Fell's interviews and you will understand why we are where we are. Rome was not built in a day!

I think wages will be a factor too. Can't see Carlisle making us pay an awful lot for a loan player and someone like brockbank would likely want £300pw+ to play for reds. If we can plug gaps with 2 or 3 cheap loan players then it allows MF to go out and find some real quality with the rest of the budget. Plus we want to keep the relationship with Carlisle as strong as possible.

I'd imagine Fell thought he could entice Barnes, Mellen, Carroll & Bailey from Lancaster and as that now isn't happening he is struggling to find suitable experienced players. It will be interesting to see how this year's Budget Booster will be used.

Well it can't be used any worse than last years. Any manager walking into this club with only 6 or 7 retained players has a mountain to climb.

Well hope it gets better soon cause this game is the worst I have seen. Carlisle city dominating possession, reds hitting aimless balls their keeper might aswell be sitting in stand with me

That was truly shocking. Not sure playing without wingers and just wing backs suits us and especially Dav.

Thought both trialist defenders done well didn’t recognise the number 6 but reckon most there will know the number 4, who if signs will make a massive difference to the team
