Following the visit of newly promoted Leek Town to Borough Park on Saturday, we take a trip to fellow promoted club Prescot Cables. Cables finished 3rd in NPLW last season with 67 points, 1 point behind Runcorn Linnets, and 11 points behind Leek Town. After seeing off 4th placed Bootle in the play off semi final, they went on to defeat 5th placed City of Liverpool in the final.
Prescot are 18th with 1 point from 3 games Reds are 17th with 2 points from 3 games
Prescot at home 0-1-0 Reds away 0-0-1
Recent Prescot results: 17 Aug Stockton 3-2 Prescot 13 Aug Macclesfield 1-0 Prescot 10 Aug Prescot 0-0 Matlock
The last time we played Prescot 7 Jan 2023 Reds 3-3 Prescot. Reds were 3rd and Prescot 10th in NPLW
The last time we went to Prescot: 16 Aug 2022 Prescot 1-1 Reds. It was the second game of the NPLW season.
Prescot's season so far has seen them lose to the current top two teams - Stockton and Macclesfield, but only by a single goal. Matlock are currently 20th with 1 point. Reds away record last season was 3-5-12.
So both sides enter their 4th fixture of the season searching for their first win. Both teams have a goals record of 2-4 so far. Looks to be a prime candidate for a draw, but hoping we can bring all three points back from this one.
Come on you Reds

Think with any team Mark F puts out it will always stay in the game. Do not expect goals a plenty scored or conceded Lets hope at Prescot we are on the right side of decisions

Let's hope we keep it up in the second half. I'm enjoying this game a lot.

Listening to the commentary and watching the live scoreboard it seems we are starting to click together as a team , clean sheet and two goals away from home represents a good night’s work, games come thick and fast at this time of year so good to see the manager spelling off our most influential players, look forward to hearing his comments

Good performance and certainly deserved to win. Worked our socks off and although we play forward a lot faster now we still put some good moves together. Prescot were pretty direct , not the worst team I've seen but lacked composure when it mattered. We fielded a very young team but were a step above them and it should have been more comfortable. Nugent and Kamara stand outs for me but all played well and great to get the clean sheet especially given how young our back 5 was.

Really good watch that, outclassed Prescot in every department. Future can’t be bad with so many excellent young players on display. Kamara should be playing in the championship now

Our workrate was phenomenal and seeing Riggy busting a gut to chase back 50 yards to get a tackle in was a great example. The energy from Kamara, Nugent & Stephenson was excellent but everybody was outstanding & though Prescot looked poor I think much of that was down to Reds display - by far the best I've seen since before Christmas.

This is all very exciting to hear. I listened to their manager interview and he just basically kept repeating that we totally out worked them and taking his hat off to the better team. Hope we can repeat with 2 very hard games this weekend. Look forward to seeing this worldy goal from Kamara on YouTube
