That was great fun. Superb work by everyone involved in the production - I'll admit I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but it was just terrific. TVOWC is such a class act - scripted or otherwise ! . Look forward to hearing how much was raised. Two small points - I also haven't received the download with the programme. And is it wishful thinking that the final score was showing as Reds 3 Man Utd 1 for the last couple of minutes ? But well done everyone.

Well done to everyone involved. Great idea, super old photographs and wonderful commentary. Only Walshie could commentate for 45 mins from a pile of old photo's and make it sound like a live game.

Thanks for the memories 62 years ago I don't believe it and was it not great to see Borough Park filled to the rafters.
It was a brilliant experience with all your friends and never a hint of trouble or bad language to be heard. Small children were lifted on Adults shoulders to see the game. Other games then you could dip under the barrier and sit on the grass !
Think Walshie was the star as ever - thanks JW. I was trying to recollect the press reporters of that day - maybe Dan Richardson Alan Sandwich Stan Ogilivie are three that come to mind.
I still reckon this game was the one which cost the Reds a top 12 position and into Division Three - we tailed off in the second half of the season and so finished in Division Four - the start of a new era so lets hope today is the start of another era and one which in their centenary 1921-2021 we will be Champions on the field as well as off. A real community club working together. Thanks to all involved keep up the good work.

Was the headline Banner at the end Workington 3 Manchester United 1 an error or just what we Reds fans thought it should have been >

Last time I looked with about 20 minutes to go it was about 3200. Biggest gate in our post EFL years.

Really enjoyed the production, well done to those involved they should feel proud of their efforts, not only as the event raised valuable funds it has increased the clubs profile massively throughout the country and beyond Pleased to say I have received my programme, can anyone confirm that the reds really did draw at Carlisle on Christmas day then beat them 24 hours later at borough park ?

Yes to carlisle results home win 2.1 away draw 2.2 and yes to Reds playing in all white on the big day. In those days it was Home side which had to change strip in FA Cup ties

Great job to everyone involved in the production today. Workington must have been buzzing in the 50s with reds and town going so well. It was quite interesting to hear that we had signed players for large amounts and that 5 a lot of our players were from Scotland

I'd forgotten that Reds played in white that day - but what an occasion it was and I'm proud to say 'I was there.' The reporters around at that time would certainly have been Dan Richardson, Alan Sandwith, Sid Ogilvie and also Brian Bone. Photographer Ivor Nicholas was based in Cockermouth. I think another cameraman Alex Scott would also have been on the scene. He was at the Star when I joined the paper in 1960 as a 16-year-old. Walshie replaced me when I left for the Evening Mail three years later. He did a great job today and I'm not surprised that he's held in such high regard in Workington and beyond. I hope he can commentate Reds into the Northern Prem next season. If there was any justice that's where they should be now after this season's fantastic effort.
