Disappointing to hear all the negative comments we need a reality check of where we are. The manager had a massive rebuild with only 5 left from last season you have got to give him credit for getting a competitive team on the pitch. I'm sure he's not liking a lot of the play, it was to direct and a bit aimless plus we got picked off to easily but it is a new team and very early days. We do need more depth which he seems well aware of but as usual getting lads to travel is difficult. The lack of locals is very concerning and a lot of the ones who are good enough are opting to play elsewhere so we need to work on making the Reds a more attractive option which usually means having to boost the budget. Just have to see where we are at Christmas if we can stay more or less midtable I'd be more than happy given all the changes. Despite my little moan I do agree with all of this. I don't think we are too far away. We haven't recruited any bad players as far as I can see. Signing a left back which would free up Kai to play a more natural role could make a huge difference. We also need a forward to rotate Allen and Rigg. Wondering if playing Dav as LWB would work? The way our shape sets up it's much more attacking than traditional fbs and it could also allow him opportunities to cut inside and shoot. Not sure how interested Dav would be in the role though 🤣

[br I heard he was invited back for pre season but opted to stay put for more guaranteed game time. Can't say how true it is though but I think there was a few cumbrian lads that did the same.

I’m trying not to judge too early but if you include preseason friendlies we’re 17 or so games in and so far I haven’t seen anything to get me on the edge of my seat. The football so far had been pretty dire with far too much long ball stuff for me.
Yes, the manager had a hard job rebuilding but he’s had the luxury of time since DG’s announcement to assess what he needs. We’ve got some really quality attacking players in Galloway, Nugent, Allen, Hubbold and Dav but we don’t play to their strengths. In fact we’ve managed to do the oppositions job for them by nullifying our best player who scored 25 goals last season by playing him out of position and tbh he looks fed up.
Mark Fell favours 3 CB’s which is why I assume we haven’t gone out and signed any actual fullbacks but the system isn’t working for me and we look woefully short on width as a result.
As I say, I’m prepared to give the manager time to implement his ideas and I’ll still be down supporting the lads whatever. What worries me though is how many others appear to have been turned off already as the attendances are steadily dropping and a long way short of the 1K plus that was talked about preseason

As others have said, not the best performance or game we've ever seen but personally I think Reds will improve under this management team. Quick question, why was yesterdays' ref from Southampton? That's a hell of a trek for a non league game.

To be fair, we are quick to forget how dire we were towards the back end of last season, 3 wins post Boxing Day. The only games we have lost this season are against two sides in the top six. The team is still a complete work in progress, surely we will get a couple more in the door. The football has been hard to watch at points, but I'd rather that than shipping the amount of goals we did last season, we weren't even scoring many towards the back end of last season.

On holiday in the Lake District Can we get him a second home up here? I thought he was much better than most of the refs we usually see!
