First competitive game looks like 12th Sep F.A. Cup. First league game 19th Sep. Pre Season friendlies can start 1st August, but at preasant they will be behind closed doors until the goverment allow crowds in. Plenty teams in our league have friendly games arranged for August.

The “stadia” thing has arisen because of Johnson mentioning letting spectators back into stadia by October. I’m certain that this reference was for the benefit of leagues a lot further up the food chain. I doubt that politicians have very much idea of football outside of the football League! This confusion started a rather pointless debate on nonleaguematters about the definition of a stadium.
The FA seem confident of spectators being allowed back into non league grounds in September and have submitted a plan to the DCMS. It is now up to Oliver Dowden’s department. However I would expect that, as the plans have been published in such detail, talks have reached an advanced stage and the FA are just waiting for confirmation before making a further announcement.

Thanks for that explanation. Makes me feel like September 12 is not that far away, and gives something to look forward to.
