OK. So here we go. It's time to announce a bit more detail about our first project.
The West Cumbrian Football Food Collection will see us team up with the West Cumbria Youth Football League to bring help to those families in great need during the current pandemic and in the lead up to Christmas.
Starting today both Reds fans and those involved with local Grassroots clubs are able to donate foods from our shopping list (see photo) and we will do the rest, we will co-ordinate the donations, collect from local clubs and make sure they are passed to the best local organisations so they can be distributed straight to those who need it most throughout the whole of West Cumbria.
Reds fans, you can donate at Borough Park during office opening hours 10-2 weekdays or on match days at our collection points placed inside the turnstiles.
Grassroots players and their families can donate via their local club and we will do the rest. Local clubs who join the project will receive some goodies from the Foundation no matter how much they donate..... Its as simple as that. Instructions for signing up to the scheme have already gone to all club secretaries.
Don't worry exiled Reds fans, we know you love to support everything the club does. We have a system in place whereby you can purchase a voucher and we will do your shopping for you, just get in touch for more details.
Football through Marcus Rashford has done a lot nationally to raise awareness of the problems many families face. This is an opportunity for us all to get involved in a truly local way, the football community of West Cumbria really can make a difference, please donate what you can.
Remember the shopping list is on the photos, please only donate items on the list so nothing goes to waste.
Thank you
