Away to Marine on 5th December, who presumably are still allowed to train because of their FA Cup progress and 2nd Round game at the end of November. Worst possible resumption for us.

You'd hope that first week just gets postponed and allows all teams to get some training/friendlies in

If NPL Management Committee decide games must starton 5th December they really need to shake their heads.
Teams need at very latest need a couple of training sessions and a warm up game, otherwise there will ge a glut of injuries.
IMO 19th December would be best option for the restart date and if it means season has to be extended to finish so be it. Last thing we all need is the shambles with which last season was concluded

Just a thought. The 5 December is the scheduled date for the FAT 2nd round. If football is allowed on that day, it would make sense for the FA to play today’s postponed first round matches, which would mean that we are away to Nantwich and the league game is postponed.
I’m fully aware that sense and the FA are rarely used in the same sentence.

I know the Northern League have decided that they will resume on 5 December and have already announced rearranged dates for the November postponements.

Hopefully the NPL Management Committee will have been taking soundings from the clubs by now and have a policy agreed to move forward. The alternative of a knee jerk reaction like we saw last March will spell disaster. Covid will not have disappeared by December but the big question of fans being allowed or not must be clarified in advance too.

It would be stupid to play the first round of the FA Trophy on the second round date [5th Dec] as there are still 34 matches of the final qualifying round to play yet.

We don’t know if lockdown will be lifted on 2 December yet and it would be impossible to restart our league without fans

Nantwich have just announced that their FA Trophy tie with Workington will go ahead next Tuesday (December 8).
