Assuming vaccination targets are met by circa 15 Feb, and some relaxation of lockdown
Two/three weeks of training.
Season extended to end of May/mid June, teams to play twice a week.
Jobs a gud un.
BUT knowing our Lg they will want it done & dusted by April or come up with some other crazy scheme!

It is difficult trying to stay positive I am resigned to no easing of lockdown until after Easter. It would be stupid beyond belief to loosen the controls too soon once again. Even within Elite Sports the Covid rate is rising fast A bit like the ‘Time of the Golden Goal’ one could run a competition with the date of the next NPL league game its anybody's guess

Apparently all 3 trident league boards believe the season should be null and void but are going to consult member clubs before making any decision. Southern League statement below but the same statement now on the NPL site

Completely understandable, but that doesn't make it any easier to take.
Fingers crossed that the nucleus of this team will stick around after two wasted seasons.

Cant believe they want to null and void again! Have they learned nothing from last season. Suspend and finish it whenever even if its August. Who's to say next season wont be disrupted again! League boards and FA are hopeless , all them meaningless games when if commonsense was applied we could have had at least one completed season. Might aswell use the handful of games played as a start for next season cant just keep throwing it all way, supporters and volunteers are losing faith!

We are in the midst of a crisis which seems to worsen day by day. Even with my most positive head on, I can't see any realistic prospect of football at our level being able to restart in the foreseeable future, and therefore, sadly, I would agree that taking a decision to end the season now, is the correct move. Whatever the politicians tell us, the experts are saying that it is quite likely that there will be some form of restriction for a good part of 2021, possibly even towards the end of the year, when the risk from many viruses increases.
Someone told me once that the misery of uncertainty is worse than the certainty of misery and this is how I feel at the moment. The false hope of games and having to try and maintain fitness must be crucifying for the players and coaches. Ending the season now will at least bring this to an end. I have stopped guessing when things will improve, and can only hope that we will be able to have a relatively normal 2021-22 season.
At the end of the day though, there are more important things going on than football. Cumbria has gone from being a relatively safe area of the country Covid wise to a hot spot, where some of the local rates of infection are amongst the worst in England. We can only hope that the planned jab programme and the current lock down lead to a massive improvement in the coming months.

Considering the amount of time that has passed since the League was suspended would it not have been prudent for the NPL Board to seek opinions across the 60+ clubs before meeting with the Southern & Isthmian Leagues or is that too simple. As for the FA well they will say the clubs made the decision dont point fingers at us You can tell from the F A Cup the F A priority is to keep their prestige comps going, quality of football does matter as long as the money from sponsors keeps rolling in Chorley v Derby Co under 23s to me says it Ali

Last season, at a much later stage, was a totally different matter.

Given that the current season is only a few games old, my suggestion would be to terminate if the outlook suggests that a restart will not be possible. What could happen from there is a return to the previous uncompleted season and finish it as time allows. Promotions offered in the usual style to the top clubs, but no relegations. I accept that this is biased in Reds favour, but the facts are that Reds were top of the league when suspended and subsequently should be given the opportunity to win promotion, along with the other top clubs.
As has been pointed out, who knows when any suggestion of normality will return. How long can stop start seasons continue for?

This season will be void. We will start again in August.
What this will mean to the state of football at our level I don't bare to think other than it will be exceedingly grim. We just need to keep supporting our club.
