Reds deffo looked out of sorts last night but bobbly pitch, 4th game in 2 weeks and a competent opposition would have all contributed. We tried the through ball for Nath against a high defence in first half and one came off for the first goal though i though Waterston was offside, not going to complain though as he finished well. It was fairly even with Mossley not really threatening first half and Reds reduced to shooting from distance.
Mossley came out strongly 2nd half and Reds had to roll their sleeves up and defend, a lot of the time in our own box and some last ditch, bodies on the line defending required. Was unusual to witness this season but good to see we can do it. We didnt create a lot of clear chances in the 2nd half with Goose having a header cleared off the line from a corner. We were largely struggling to retain possession and losing the ball in midfield quite often. But credit to Mossley who were well organised
We made it 2-0 when Goose hit the post/bar from a Symington freekick, the ball fell to Substitute Alli who finished smartly across goal into the bottom corner. That was basically game over and we had been clinical with our good chances.
At this time of the season its just about winning and points on the board, especially when it's 3, way more handy than games in hand. Ponte Losing puts this in our own hands so job well done!

Certainly a tougher game than others recently, Mossley never really had a goal threat though. They were playing for any set piece they could get but despite having some big men never really looked like maximising those opportunities. We gave the ball away a lot in the second half because they were putting us under pressure. We clearly were the better team going forward.
