Always going to happen at some stage, but so soon, and in our current upward looking situation, it's a real shame. Hopefully it's a position which is a substantial step up.
Thanks and good luck Danny.

Hope the club gets compensation as he has just signed a new contract but I doubt it.

I hope so too. The contract should protect the manager AND THE CLUB. So it mustn't just work just one way. If it's a great opportunity for Danny, then it should be great compensation for the Reds.

Yeah getting decent compo would soften the blow slightly but not holding my breath!

Hope the club gets compensation as he has just signed a new contract but I doubt it. Surely that's the reason for ensuring that we had a multi-season contract in place with the likes of Danny? It was only a matter of time before this was going to happen. (Although it would have been nice to think we were 2 leagues higher that we were when Danny first arrived at the club). The forward thinking Board have protected one of the financial assets we had at our club. Danny is an ambitious young manager that I have no doubt is destined for a great career in that role in football. Best wishes for the future Danny and thanks for the input you have had at our club that hopefully has a lasting positive effect on the field.

Good luck Danny wherever thats happens to be and thanks for all you have done for Reds. will be watching your progress up the ladder.
Sure he must have been frustrated as much as the fans so much promise unfulfilled. Hopefully he will have his say to the Board on how to move forward with the new Manager.

Danny Grainger has turned the club around in those 2 seasons, a more professional outfit who have been a joy to watch, its a tragedy that the team haven't been rewarded for their efforts, good luck in your new role let's hope we can recruit a worthy successor

What a rotten trick to pull just before the start of the new season when all hopes were focused on promotion. I am in a state of shock and cannot believe he has taken this action having signed a new contract. Thought he was dedicated to the Reds team but how wrong can you be. Reminds me of that slime ball Skelton! Christ knows who will manage the Reds now but who ever they are will have a tough act to follow. I am truly gutted that you have left the Reds Danny at such an important time. Bet the lads will be gutted and shocked also as it is a form of betrayal in my opinion.

Good luck to him, wherever he goes (has there been any mention of where he's headed?). The club is unrecognisable from the one he inherited. Such a shame that the last two seasons have been completely curtailed.
Fingers crossed that the board can find someone equally ambitious and that can carry on building momentum and get us promoted.

Message to Rockerlad. I am entitled to my opinion having been a long standing supporter of the Reds and resent you criticsing me. So may I suggest that you "get a grip" and keep your insults to yourself as you are always posting and have too much to say for yourself. I appreciate that Danny has had a better offer and he has decided to take it-let us hope that it is a decision he does not live to regret and it is not a case of into the frying pan out of the fire. Wonder who we will get to replace him.
