Very sad to hear this news. John has been tireless and selfless in his work as Chairman. I have nothing but admiration for him and the stability and success he has brought to the club. Ross has also achieved great things in his role , again through unstinting effort.
Must be something serious or even a crisis for the resignations to be with immediate effect.
Hope it's not a coup led by a self interested ex commercial director to blame; at the last AGM he was talking about a letter sent to the BOD asking for the Chairmans resignation.

I would echo what you have said about John and Ross, MBR and they have my grateful thanks for the hours they have put in helping to keep our club going. However John’s words about a group of very good people, doesn’t sound like a coup to me? Here’s hoping for a quick succession and that our club will continue to move forward!!

They'll both be missed. Enjoy 'retirement'! A few weeks ago, robbrown asked how much it would cost to sort out the stadium. Could the two be related?

Sure all genuine fans will join in thanking John and Ross for their efforts on behalf of Reds over the past years. They will be able to enjoy their football instead of all the various match day duties they have assisted with. It is easy to sit on the sidelines and criticise The BoD but every crisis offers an opportunity and they leave the club in a good position. It is just a shame Allerdale didnt commit to a new Stadium last May

Hopefully a further announcement will happen soon, with the team doing so well at the minute we could do without too much upheaval, a thankless task being on the board but as previously stated both have served the club well over the years.

I would also add my gratitude to John and Ross for their time in a thankless role. John in particular always made time to chat on my visits to away games.
I do hope this will in some way be a positive move for the club. I'm sure neither John or Ross would have left without a succession plan. Be really good to hear what is going to happen now very quickly, as I'm sure the rumour mill will / has already started to speculate on the empty positions.

There are reports of a certain window cleaner being spotted around Borough Park today.

Yeah big thanks to John and Ross. As a diehard fan who lives out of the area, I always appreciate the efforts others make to keep the club going. Well done also if they've stepped aside so others can come in and hopefully progress the club. Last season was a massive disaster but a big well done to them for appointing Danny and bringing him to the club. Its given the club a tremendous lift which was desperately needed. Let's hope they continue to support the club from the terraces

Something's a foot. John is the hardest working chairman I have known in my time supporting the Reds. He didn't like the takeover at Barrow and that's why he left them and came to Borough Park.
