A lot of negative comments about the ticket situation, cash gates etc but on a positive note two attendances over 600 to start the season is a great effort so the club cant be getting it all wrong.I have just checked the football attendance webpage running from 2012/13 and its surprising how few times we have broken the 600 barrier,in fact I make these games the 16 and 17th best supported in the ten seasons covered. I firmly believe there is massive potential for growth in the area and its been great to read about the kids festivals and seeing whitehaven miners on Saturday as we need to be regarded as the team representing all of west cumbria. Let's hope we can keep the crowds returning this Saturday

Can I ask what are the negative comments regarding the ticket situation? Trying to come up with a system that will benefit the club and the fans.

Can I ask what are the negative comments regarding the ticket situation? Trying to come up with a system that will benefit the club and the fans. The negative comments are from people not happy with no cash gates at the first game and the lack of online ticketing and I am aware that a cash turnstile has now been put in operation and derwentender has covered the online issue on a separate thread. Back to our attendances the 3rd game was just short of the 600 mark but with home games on the next 2 Saturday's and a Tuesday game with Ramsbottom everyone needs to spread the word and bring in the casual supporters ,gates of a thousand are not totally out of our reach with this set of players

Reds have never had the support they deserve from local people. Disgrace really when you consider that our current team of talented players are exciting to watch and give 110% every game. The new manager is proving to be a very resourceful, experienced and very proactive with a very good ability to connect with the supporters. I saw him swig some beer after the game against Clitheroe and thought that was so human after a brilliant performance Proud to be a life long supporter of the mighty Reds! Good luck on Saturday Reds even with the injury list! COYR

Think they need to get the online ordering of tickets up and running, seems to work a lot smoother over at town ground, people are going to be reluctant to queue for tickets once winter kicks in
also need to cash in on the great start by having a big social media drive to promote matches, ideal opportunity this weekend with no premiership football to compete with

A fantastic crowd on Saturday pushing towards 700 was followed by a sub 500 for the Tuesday night game, must be slightly disheartening for those at the club, cant believe that early rounds of champions league games are that appealing, any suggestions to increase numbers?

we had no mascots and paying parents for the game last night, also some folk maybe just can't afford 2 games in the space of 3 days. thankfully there isn't many mid week games left now

We could only manage a draw against Leek, fans are fickle, so they stay away for the next game. Plus the other reasons already given.

Thought I would revisit this thread for an end of session comparison, final average gate was 767, this includes 5 games over 1000 and only 2 gates below 500 ( both midweek and one in particular should probably have been postponed),its been a terrific sustained effort from the club accross the season with an increased social media presence helping an a willingness from the club to work with the fans. The early season ticketing issue was handled well and now caters for all,I still choose to buy mine midweek from the office and cant fault their service and willingness to communicate on any issues. There has been some great ideas including the ground hop day and the welcoming of ex players, the invitation to all junior clubs as mascots but most of all the centenary passes for under 16s,we are now attracting the teenager's who are helping with the atmosphere at games. Onto next year and 1500 is easily achievable with average to push nearer 1000,another thread suggested a big preseason game which would be ideal and I would also like to see if possible some alterations around the bar and snacks provisions, looking at Tuesday there was some serious money to be made. Roll on next season and keep spreading the word,we need to aim to be the number 1 sports club in west cumbria.

Very big dilemma for the board to make about who will be the manager for next season. There has been some excellent posts regarding this issue and shows how much fans care about the club and its future success. I agree with the catering situation, and even though another hatch is in situ, it is hellish standing in a long queue sometimes missing some of the action on the pitch. I think we need some additional outside catering facilities like we had in the league days where you could buy pies, pasties, crisps and chocolate. Also for next season there needs to be an organized entry/exit through the double door to the clubhouse as it is a free for all, congested muddle at the moment. With large crowds at the game there is lots of money to be made from catering.
In time I guess the hurt over missing out on promotion will be bearable coupled with a good feel factor returning to the club. COYR

Yes fully appreciate the dilemma and I know the fans who use these facilities acknowledge the efforts and sacrifices the volunteers make, would say it's a financial decision to be made then ,the cost of employing people or outside contractors against what profits can possibly be made, bring on the new stadium and have more comfortable and accessible facilities
