Fair to say we haven't done too well in cup competitions so far. Out at the first hurdle in both FAC and FAT. The defeat to Dunston on FAT2QR was also our first defeat at Borough Park of the season. Given our first defeat in the league was a few days earlier, we have now lost two on the bounce so will welcome this opportunity to hopefully get back to winning ways. Whitehaven are in the West Lancashire Football League along with names including Euxton Villa and Coppull Utd. The league has www.westlancashireleague.co.uk/match-info/tables 16 teams and Whitehaven are currently 13th with 11 points from their 10 games. Recent Whitehaven results: 9 Oct Southport Hesketh 3-3 Whitehaven 2 Oct Whitehaven 2-2 Coppull Utd 25 Sept Whitehaven 3-2 Poulton 18 Sept Whitehaven 3-1 CMB 11 Sept Blackpool Wren Rovers 3-0 Whitehaven 4 Sept Whitehaven 1-3 Slyne with Hest Although they have played less matches than most other teams, Whitehaven are the second worst team for goals scored with 15. By comparison, Euxton Villa at the top of the league have scored 39 from their 13 games. What we don't need from this game is any more injuries. Some of the 16 ties have already been completed in CCC1R. We head to Newcastle Town in the league after this CCC tie, so hopefully we can get back to winning ways. Come on you Reds.

Well that was some game, in terms of goals and entertainment for the neutral brilliant. As for Reds fans frustration turning to elation with 3 goals in last few minutes of extra time turning defeat into victory. What it demonstrates is the spirit within the squad to keep going. Just hope the 120 minutes hasnt taken its toll for Saturday and Dav S early substitution was purely precautionary

A West Cumbrian classic in the County Cup at Borough Park!
After going 4-2 down in ET, an unbelievable last 5 minutes saw us win 5-4 with a last gasp penalty from @rubenjerome8 being one of his 4 goals on the night!

Only negative from a good night was - why in the grip of some of the highest Covid-19 cases in England in our area did the club see fit to 'Corral' all the supporters into one area of the ground? Stupid move. I was told, by a club official, it was because there would have been extra cost to put a steward in the Popular side If there were too allow people over there, yet for the full match there were 2 people and a photographer over there! That null and voids that argument I recon.

Following a discussion with a number of Club Officials before last nights match started, both myself and Kevin Aitken (fellow Director) moved around to the Popular Side to retrieve balls that ended up in the stands. Regarding photographers, I understand they have the Club's prior permission to be pitchside to undertake their task. Hope this clears up those aspects of your post above. Thanks Simon

If you’re so bothered about us having high covid cases then maybe stay at home for the winter with your face mask on👍🏻 Theres no covid restrictions now and lifes back to normal

Because i dont want to stay at home, i want to support the team as i have for the last 50 odd years. But i do expect the club to look after the health and safety of its paying supporters and on this occasion i think they made a mistake for the reasons ive mentioned. Ta for your concern though.
