Our last 3 home games have been rubbish, in those games we have created about 5 or 6 chances in 270 mins of football. Time for a rethink and switch to a 442. the usual back four of kyle, goose, sam and clarkey, cass or brad h (if fit) and brad c in central midfield with dav and tinners out wide to get some crosses in to the box for reuben and scotty to get onto. we have riggy and nico to come on if needed to change things up top. I think if we can win the next 3 games we win the championship.

Agree that something needs to change in regards to how we set up,just get the feeling we are doing something wrong behind the scenes and our recruitment policy is very erratic, need to get back to developing our own players too

One thing I would say is that we need the home pitch to be well watered as these bumpy pitches dont suit our game. In the Trafford game the ball wasn’t zipping around as it looked too dry

We’ve been worked out so can expect more of the same on the road….just need to find out cutting edge and we will be ok…

Updated here However this is based on past performance and unfortunately we are not even currently looking like the side we were 2 months ago, let alone previous seasons. For Clarity these are the anticipated results that lead to this garstang7 says since widnes but to be honest the rot kind of started against Mossley, we were very poor in the start of that game and were luck to not be losing. We some how scraped a 2-0 Didnt deserve 3 points against Trafford or Ramsbottom, Yes we were the better side against Prescot (as we bloody well should be) but in those three games i cant recall the opposition keepers making a single save. Most of our "chances" were shots from distance that were blocked. Our style of play is awful at the moment its just long balls hit forward which we fail to win consistently enough, no problem if we want to play that way but we should have signed Sefton Gonzales not Connor Gaul. If Jerome does win it its flicked on to no-one as he's on his own, if the ball is not won and headed away our midfield is nowhere to be seen to pick up the 2nd ball. This means we are constantly ceeding possession, meaning we cant build any sustained pressure against teams. In reality this makes us much easier to defend against as we are not pulling defences around to pull them out of position or create openings. They are able to maintain their shape and restrict space so we are not even forcing the poor teams into mistakes. Our midfield and forwards are constantly caught in possession or have a poor touch and get tackled or if they do try a pass its not executed well enough and is under or over hit. Swear yesterday many of Steven Rigg's 2nd touches were tackles. Was like having Steve Birks back. But he wasnt the only one so its slightly unfair to single him out. We don't pass the ball quickly enough either allowing the opposition to be able to close us down and restrict our options. We arent using the channels enough either, the long balls are always into the centre of the pitch which is easier to defend. When we do attack out wide the delivery is too delayed into the box, then its not even accurate enough. If you put a first time ball in and its crap i can kind of accept that, but when you cut back, delay, line it up and then its massively overhit thats just not good enough. I dont know if other teams have just figured us out or if its of our own doing, Also i accept i cant offer what the Manager is to do about it but we look completely bereft of confidence going forward. Thats not at all a good thing going into the business end of the season. Its been hard to say last 3 games who was the side in the top 5 and who was the one from lower mid table. On the flip side, we are still picking up points, 7 from last 9. Thats still just about ok. The league is still in our own hands but we have run out of lives now. We Absolutely Must Win the next 2 games. If we do not then all i can see is Playoff unless Rylands have a sudden drop in form. Just need one good performance against Colne at home and i reckon that could spark us back into life!

And that's all he know kick and rush we might or might get something off it

Harsh. Rammy and Prescot away, not sure how you are supposed to play any decent brand of football on those surfaces. Can’t comment on Trafford at home. Warrington struggled Saturday at Rammy as we did. Probably for the same reason. Leek 20 minute spell second half on plastic, we were quality…. Homework has been done by the opposition. Dealing with route one hoof ball on one hand and trying to play not easy to set up against, the ball rarely on the deck. We need to deal with it, that’s the tough bit. With Danny Grainger in charge I honestly reckon the outcome would have been the same in my opinion. Maybe time for Scott to have a go through the middle. I’d love to see Donae Lawrence back - he’s made for these sort of contests. I think Willocks done a good job…we ain’t conceding in some tough route one battles. Confidence for me - score a couple we will be ok….think I’d go with water sprinklers and a heavy roller for our next addition!

Yeah i still think the manager has done well. The recruitment early in the season to even keep us in the title race was excellent. Rowan Roache and Donae Lawrence were good players who contributed to keeping us in touching distance. Not Sure if Danny G could have done that in the same scenario. We basically had nearly a full team out injured.
The current slump in form is still only 1 defeat in 18 games, that was with 10 men so lets not write ourselves off yet. Its just that our title rivals have been faultless for a while which is ramping up the pressure. However, For context Rylands only managed a draw at Prescot earlier in the season
But we do need to play better though and the next game is huge, forget next 3 games just focus on one at a time.
Win against Colne is an absolute must and see where we are on Saturday night.

The difference is softer flatter pitches earlier in the season and when the chances came we’d always take one….the manger and players know they need to work on the final 3rd I’m sure…I think we need to sign a player who can take down a high ball, turn on a sixpence into space on an appalling surface to boot….anyone got 30 million quid spare???

Warrington lost 2 games on the bounce around January time so Mr Stretford decided to bring in 6 quality additions. our performances haven't been great last few weeks and definitely need to Improve. Marine also seek to have hit a bit of a stick patch as well.

Signed a quality lad from Crewe with extensive football league experience, Also Dean Furman - 80 odd caps for South Africa and still going amongst others. Won’t be playing for nowt given how far down the pyramid they have dropped.

yes the agent of Wayne Rooney and Harry maguire is bankrolling them. I'm always a bit uncomfortable about clubs that seem to spring up from nowhere backed by a millionaire using cheap facilities, why dont they get involved in one of the countless other established clubs within the area, let's hope we can hold our nerve and take the title.

I blame myself for the dip in performance, I bust the zip on the jeans I always wear for matches right before Mossley at Home, and we've been largely awful since! Wore them for Mossley and Widnes held together with a safety pin but since we lost i had to discard after Widnes. For the record I had not seen us lose all season in them (Missed Runcorn at Home due to Covid and Warrington away due to touring)
