Is this new board trying to go a head with out consulting the share holders of both clubs I'm sure when the time is right the club will, but if we want a new stadium we will most likley have to leave Borough Park for a shot while. I was at the vote that blocked the old board from being able to move us, but nothing was said about sharing. both clubs need this new stadium.

Borough Park holds many memories for me but Reds and Town need a 21st Century Stadium if they are to progress and prosper.

stole this from the town forum. "I was looking at Boston United new ground, the Jakemans Community Stadium which opened around 2020 and looks a cracking little ground, which is basically one very well equipped main grandstand and covered terracing and that cost £12 million !! I think it has a 6,000 capacity There's a video showing how the work is progressing, can't help but think something along these lines would be ideal. I think the end that is still to be completed is a sports hall www.bostonunited.co.uk/news/video--community-stadium-latest-2589592" now if we got something like Boston stadium for £12m I'd be over the moon.

Probably shows how long since we have had updates that I have had to look back this far to find a relevant thread,so around 6 months have passed, are we anywhere nearer seeing some progress or a statement,my big fear is we will run out of time to spend the money available

From a personal point of view, I would want to remain at Borough Park, and spend money improving the facilities. I’m not a big fan of shared stadiums, or new stadiums and feel that with the right people in place, we can retain our history and prosper where we are. It seems to me like it is more the rugby people and our local MP who want this…
I’d be interested to see if anyone else shared the same thoughts?
Gaz.

100% Agreed. I know keeping Borough Park up to scratch is a full time job, but Workington AFC and the ground are one of the same. Lose Borough Park and the history of The Reds is also lost. All those incredible achievements of the 1950s and 60s on Billy Watson's hallowed turf will become detached and meaningless to the next generation of Reds' supporters if we move home.

I am not in favour of a shared stadium which will most definitely lead to lack of identity for the Reds and loss of all the history associated to Borough Park. I would like to see money spent on doing Borough Park up instead of souless stadium. Let the fans decide!!!

My recollections go back to the Fifties when Borough Park was shared. At that time Reds were a League team and Town were a strong Rugby League side. Both were attracting good crowds and creating memories. 60+ years on the world has moved on and both clubs have suffered over those years. Many clubs have upgraded their Stadiums without losing their local appeal such as Sunderland Reading while who now remembers New Brighton!
Heart will always say Retain Borough Park but Head will say a New Stadium is an opportunity to Create new memories and only todays heroes can attract new young lifetime fans to both causes even though us oldies will always hark back to the Shankly Harvey and Furphy days and the great Cup Ties of Man U Chelsea & West Ham.
In these days when funding a Football Club is a continuing struggle to most clubs, it is logical to have a new ground without the continuing increasing cost of maintaining an old Stadium.
Whatever the outcome this may well be the last opportunity to upgrade with hopefully an early decision one way or the other as with the current difficult economic conditions it will more than likely will restrict funding on vanity projects.

The worry i always have is where does the money go. Advertising, Bar takings, Kitchen, functions etc.. Do the company running the stadium take this money and do they take a percentage of the gates. I take it the company running it will have paid staff. The company running it at the moment is called Cumberland sports village ltd. It has two directors, is this a paid role. The Share holders voted not to go over to play on Towns ground, this was done to try and stop the new stadium. Does this still stand and do share holders have to vote to change this.

I would like to see money spent on doing Borough Park up instead of souless stadium. Let the fans decide!!! the money allocated by the goverment has to be spent on the redevelopment of BP for both sporting sides to create a sports Village, nothing else. That is what the bid application state, to change that would most certainly mean losing the money. so the fans won't be able to decide. its been allocated for a specific project.

When the supporters voted against the move to dp a few years ago when JM was chairman it was for some ridiculous clause they wanted where they could move us for a limited number or games for some reason 🤔
