I've been watching reds since 2008, not that long in the grand scheme bbut my entire football supporting life, we have the easiest chance of promotion and we bottle it, it's horrible, been shite for a while but that was embarrassing to a new extent

Please tell us what you witnessed today Ray, as I can hardly believe that we did not win today to take the championship. Truly gutted at such a missed opportunity. Team selection all wrong Tony. To play 1 up top against a pub team was astonishing especially with Jerome & Allison on the bench. It's as if the manager thought Rylands would definitely win and was resigned to the play offs. 1 down following an horrendous error by Hubbold, we showed little or no creativity and second half they had something to hold on to and we resorted to hoofball. The keeper made a couple of routine saves but we just looked flat and lacklustre. Jerome's late goal should have led to a 10 minute siege against a team which had got 11 points and conceded over 120 goals but it just didn't happen. Don't know what happened to moving the ball quickly and passing through the lines - really if we cannot beat Market Drayton to win the championship you have to ask if we deserve to go up. Absolutely gutted.

I won't claim to be a true Reds fan like everyone on here, but I was keeping updated with the game today online and felt genuinely gutted with how things turned out. I was hoping for promotion so I could see the team play at places like Hyde, FC United and Ashton (as I live in Manchester).
The worry is that a knock like this just destroys team/supporter morale - knowing that the Championship was there on a plate and you ended up throwing it off the table. Manager has some job on his hands to try and salvage something.

We have been crap since feb, in our last 6 home games we have created about 2 chances per game.Jerome has played up front on his own all season. Mossley, Colne, trafford and warrington were the better team on the day and we made widnes and kendal look ok. we only made 1 chance against kendal in the first 75 mins,it took 2 fantastic free kicks by conor to beat them. That was my thinking as well the manager thought it was a lost cause hence the selection, a game you need to win and leaving Jerome and Allison on the bench. This is basically the same team of the last 2 seasons on paper but they are not on the pitch for whatever reason.

Even by Reds standards this was an incredible situation. Bootle done us a massive favour and all we had to do was beat one of the poorest teams we've ever played! Yes we had enough chances to win but never dominated the game like we should have done. Looked more of a threat 2nd half with the changes but all a bit frantic and lacked composure in front of goal. Massive task to lift it for Tuesday now , Marine struggling too but they beat us last week so probably thinking can do it again.

Comes to something when a reds supporter turns up dressed as Hitler and some how thats not the most embarrassing aspect of the day. Don't, just don't. Dressing up as Adolf Hitler isn't amusing and just shamed all if us that made the trip. As for the game? It's the hope that kills you. I'd much rather Rylands had stormed to a six nil win. God knows how the players can be lifted on Tuesday.

After seemingly throwing it away with a series of poor performances, promotion is handed to Reds on a plate - and they promptly hand it back again. Warrington won't be able to believe their luck. The question now is: how do Reds pick themselves up from that abject performance for the play-offs? Instead of travelling home last night as champions, they now face the prospect of games against teams who don't have a goal difference of minus 95 and 11 points from 38 games. They must be feeling utterly demoralised - and I'm afraid it's going to take something very special to put that behind them before Tuesday.

I’ll be brief as I’m totally gutted and liable to say something I might regret but that performance was dire and completely unacceptable. As in the game last Monday we looked a million miles away from a team challenging for the title. The starting eleven was baffling and even though we improved slightly in the second half we allowed them to drag us down to their level. Bootle did the “impossible” for us and we still threw away our best chance of promotion. It really feels like a defeat, and as as Ray said, I wish Rylands had won 5-0. At least we could then kid ourselves that today didn’t matter. I hope I’m wrong but on the displays I’ve seen since February (we’ve been crap for weeks with the exception of Bootle), I don’t think we will be celebrating anything this season. Today was just awful and if we fail in the playoffs I’d like to seen Danny Grainger back at the club next season.

All Reds fans need to get their chins up, hard as it is at the moment, the club and the players need a lift from the crowd in the Play Offs.
Warrington Rylands captain thought they had blown it today and was resigned to the Play Offs, they could not imagine Reds wouldnt win today.
All to play for so lets put today behind us and this week show we deserve promotion.

Absolutely shocking result against the worst team in our league by a country mile. Manager must take a lot of responsibilty for recent results and there is absolutely no excuse for the players not being up for todays game. I feel most sorry for the supporters who travel all over the country supporting the team to be rewarded with a performance like that. We now have 2 games to put things right or I feel the club will start to go backwards if promotion is not gained this season and crowds will start to go down. Cannot agree about bringing back Danny as he chose to leave the Club same as Skelton did. In reality the best thing for him would have been to see the job through with us and get a couple of promotions under his belt while learning his trade and while I have the greatest of respect for what he did while he was at our club it was his decision to leave.

Took me a long time to post on this game due to sheer disappointment, was resigned to the play offs before the game but to only draw this game with the title for the taking is unbelievable, laughing stock of the league at the minute. Tuesday though marks a new dawn,I will be there hopefully in a good crowd as optimistic as ever waiting to put this nightmare behind us,whatever happens we need the club to get back to where we were ,predominantly local team with long term strategy

And as supporters we have no choice but to go down and support the team. Managers and players are not the club, they come and go. We stay. And we have to see the season, which in reality started in August 2019, out to the end. Hopefully not a bitter end!

I think it is appropriate to acknowledge that Market Drayton belied their league position on Saturday. Reds were poor, especially first half, and were again lacking craft in the final third but Drayton defended stoutly throughout the game, made very few unforced errors and their keeper was secure. Yes we should have beaten them and despite struggling we created enough chances to do so. I saw no lack of effort, just a lack of creativity and inspiration and Brad Carroll deserves a mention for ploughing on despite being in obvious pain. He will clearly be unfit for the play-offs and to my mind his absence is a big loss. That said, there may be an upturn in our fortunes this week but unless morale and form follow suit I suspect the other promotion place will be taken by the winners of the other semi. I hope I'm wrong (and Marine don't win it either!).
