Great to be back at borough park for the Blackburn game and I'm already optimistic that a good season is coming, team back to trying to play out from the back ,a few short passes but I'm sure there will be a massive improvement over the next few weeks. Reds team made up with a few first teamers, trialists and young development lads and cant fault anyones overall performance. Both lads from Marine settled in well ,with Ben Hughes looking very dangerous, hopefully those missing Rigg,Smith, Jerome, Symington, Casson wont be far away. New signing McCarragher was there with a protective boot over his ankle so could be long term. Decent crowd over 400 as well, hopefully more on Tuesday and next Saturday

Broken metatarsal I think for McCarragher. Thought we did ok given who we were up against and the players we had missing. Hughes took his goal well and tbe Fullback that came on in the 2nd half looks decent. Think all 3 goals we conceded could have been avoided but the lads are having to adapt to the new style of play. Even still it was So much better to watch even though we were under the cosh a lot. BP Pitch looked nice, looks as though lots of hours and a little bit of money has been spent there. Looking forward to Tuesday where we should be up against a side a bit closer to our level and should be able to see how some of the new lads and trialist cope.

A real game of two halves last night. First half, we looked ponderous, disjointed and the trialists weren't great (I'm being kind)
The second half was a massive improvement. Our two new midfielders looked great. Reilly looks a big, awkward player to defend against and grew into the game.
It feels strange to be so encouraged by a 3-0 defeat, but the second half was probably better to watch than anything I saw last season and it was good to hear the players actually being coached through the game and changes being made. Once again, we've got the makings of a bloody good side at this level.

I was very worried at HT last night. 1st half a lot of the players looked scared to give it away and for all the possession we had created zero. It was like they had no ideas of how to break Dumbarton down. Reminded me of England Vs hungary the other day. 2nd half was much better and was very encouraging. Would have liked to see their keeper worked a bit more though. Just the one save really. We also have to remember we are missing some of our key players. Smith,Jerome and Symington are huge for us. Was the lad with green/yellow boots Carrol? He looked decent. The no 10 trialist has something also, I think he's a Carlisle city player so presume a local lad.

Good to hear some positives from the Dumbarton game, couldn't make it so was pretty despondent on hearing the result. Hopefully some of the missing players will be back on Saturday. Dont think it's too big a secret the trialist number 10,seen his name given on Cumbria crack, I think its really good that we are working with other county teams to give opportunities for lads to progress.

A 3-0 defeat to Carlisle United but still plenty of positives to take from the game.At this stage we are looking for improvement each game and shape wise we looked a lot better than last week and once we play teams more of our level I think we will start to create a lot of chances. Some big efforts from our lads in red hot conditions Lightfoot,Birch,Carroll and Leslie all done well and will improve massively under Danny Grainger as the season moves on. Good to see Jerome and Symington having a run out hopefully Smith, Rigg and Casson wont be too far away

Not out best performance, but pretty good for a new look team playing a full time team in July. I think we'll have taken a lot out of it and Carlisle were given a good workout.
3-0 was probably a bit harsh, I thought we deserved a goal for our efforts on the second half.
The new signings all looked good. Keelan Leslie looks like he's finding his feet as a Reds player too

It sounds like the reds put in a decent performance in their 3-1 win at Penrith in very testing conditions. Team is starting to take shape and fair play to the 2 ex marine lads who seem to have been totally involved in all preseason so far. Missing were Rigg,Smith, Casson,Jerome,Carroll and McCarragher but Danny gave updates in his interview, great to see that we seem to have identified a handful of development players to have around the squad and we still had 2 trialists, one probably Tom Mahone? and the other an ex colleague of the manager.
