You couldn't make it up,south shields lose their appeal and at the same time league 2 end their season with promotion and relegation using ppg. Barrow will probably be given their title tomorrow, something is sadly wrong within the fa Absolutely. The FA - For All. Or not. Sad day for football.

The FA are nothing but a load of fucking arseholes, they have stated that it wouldn't be fair to relegate teams on points per game average and now they are doing it to the leagues above us. How can they get away with that.

Nobody has answered the question Why the rush to end the season immediately and make a decision on how over a weekend when other leagues have dillied and daled as to what to do for weeks on end.
If that is what the F A call sporting integrity in the game they should resign en bloc but they wont The only think that counts in football is money and small clubs dont matter in the slightest.

I think one factor that would have been taken into account, by some clubs, is the issue of player contracts and wages. They would have been in favour for a close down of the leagues and the season voided.
When the leagues were stopped there was the uncertainty of when or how they would restart. Some clubs would not have had the money to carry on paying with no income coming in. There was also the issue of self preservation for clubs in the relegation places. An example was two of my local football clubs whose Chairmen both said in the local press that it was the fair thing to do as they both felt they would played their way out of the relegation zones. That was just taking the piss and I hope both get what they deserve next season.
So the overspending and failure on the field clubs have been rewarded. It stinks but should we expect anything else from the football authorities? All very smug and couldn't care less.

If Mark Harris and his cronies had had the balls to stick to their guns then all this could have been avoided, but no, the NPL & SPL caved in to the Isthmian League to get a unanimous decision. Now maths isn't my strong point but I thought 2-1 in favour of PPG may have been enough. Harris obviously just wanted an easy ride and has no problem penalising success and rewarding failure. He is patently unfit for any position of responsibility and doesn't even have the courtesy to reply to emails.
I have a feeling Reds will struggle to replicate last season's achievements when or if the NPL starts up again. The players must have been affected psychologically by these unfair events, plus Clitheroe, a club local to me and now managed by ex-Red David Lynch, have had a cash injection and are signing some seriously good players at NPL level.

In what turned out to be their last fixture of the season, Reds beat Tadcaster Albion 4-2. It was played entirely within the rules of the game and the regulations of the competition - yet the FA has now decided, retrospectively, that along with all the other games played in the division last season, it was null and void - i.e. that it had no legal or binding force; that it was invalid. Meaning, that to all intents and purposes, it didn't happen. This is Alice in Wonderland stuff - and it doesn't matter what legal niceties in which the decision is wrapped up, it is unjust and it is wrong. There has to be a better way of recognising what clubs achieved - or didn't achieve - during the course of the season than to say, in effect, that it didn't exist. After all, it was almost 80 per cent complete. The sensible and fairest way forward would have been to decide the league on a points-per-game basis and if play-offs weren't possible, the top two to be promoted. And if this was too unpopular for the FA's sensibilities, forget about relegation. Or what about carrying forward into next season the points advantage built up this season? Anything which recognises what clubs like Workington have striven to achieve would have been preferable to what has been decided. Football at this level deserves better from the FA than this ill-judged and ill-considered decision. It may not be null and void - unfortunately - but it is certainly out of touch.

just to rub salt into the wounds, all player fines still have to be paid and any outstanding suspensions will be carried over until next season as well. absolute joke
