I've just read the letter, which is available on the Reds twitter feed. I have to commend the author(s), as it articulates very well the many arguments against expunging the 2019-20 results. I sense a growing momentum to get the FA took again at this. One of the points in the letter reflects the haste in coming to a view, so much so that most clubs were barely consulted at all. The letter has support from more than 60 clubs, including many who are not being denied promotion under the current directive, but only want to see the integrity of the game upheld.
I've only got one question. It isn't about the content of the letter, but about the Workington AFC signatory, who wasn't one of the new directors announced a month ago. Maybe someone can help with this?

Levi Gill is a Barrow Director and ex Barrow Councillor. The BBC are only reporting what he and Barrow want to happen.

Maybe someone can help with this? I see my name is down as a Reds representative, this is probably because I contacted Geoff Thompson very early in the process to congratulate him on his club’s statement. He replied to me and added me to the group email. I passed on my thoughts and said I would forward his contact details to the Workington board, if that was ok with him. It obviously was and I duly contacted 3 of our directors. Having witnessed the numerous emails and the co operation between clubs from all over the country, I can only hope their efforts are not in vain, I am massively impressed with the level of argument that is evident in the letter and obviously wish them well.

So UEFA have written to all national associations telling them not to end seasons prematurely.
Chances of the FA now heeding this advice at our level - probably less than nil, but hopefully South Shields and the rest will be formally asking the FA to apply this consistently across football. If not, why not.

200 clubs signed the letter in the end and a number of MP's have written to the Minister. Weren't the FA top brass supposed to make a decision yesterday?

It really is unbelievable Football is shooting itself in the foot time after time.
Every party is really only interested in protecting their own empire while merely paying lip service to the real outside world.
The F A will do just the same when it comes to Step 3 -6 clubs so I am resigned to being disappointed. How long does it take the F A to offer any monetary support to these clubs in Step 3 and below as Premier League support is down to National League only.

FA postponed tomorrows meeting to ratify the null and void . Feel this may be first sign they will reverse decision. Lawyers representing 151 clubs(including Reds) sent them an excellent letter outlining their opposition to their knee jerk decision and maybe that's why they've thought better leave things for now. Plus UEFA and fifa are wanting seasons to conclude if possible. A lot will depend on how this terrible virus runs its course but I feel all is not lost and there's a decent chance we can resume this season now even if its many months down the line or if not decide it on ppg instead.

The Rugby Union have used a home and away percentage points system based on results to date to decide all league positions and promotion/ relegation other than in their Premiership. So it most certainly can be done. I'd accept any method will be unfair on some, but nothing is more unfair than expunging the season's results completely.

Smacks of the infamous 'consultation' exercises companies put in place before they make people redundant. I still think the original decision will be upheld but I suppose there's a faint glimmer of hope.
