The old banana skin struck again. Gainsborough who were pointless from 5 matches on the road, including 3-0 at Basford in the previous league away fixture, managed to rob the Borough Park bank and take three points away with them. At one point during the game when Reds' were in front, we were up to 4th in the table. No time to fester though, back on the road, this time to Marske Utd. Timing may not be great. After losing 8 on the bounce, Marske won the second consecutive fixture on Saturday with a 1-4 at lwly Atherton Collieries.
Marske are 19th with 9 points from 13 games Reds are 10th with 19 points from 13 games
Marske at home 2-0-5 Reds away 1-1-4
Recent Marske results: 21 Oct Atherton Collieries 1-4 Marske 14 Oct Marske 1-0 Basford 7 Oct Marske 2-4 Marine (FAT3QR) 3 Oct Marske 2-5 FCUM 30 Sep Marske 0-3 Matlock 26 Sep Whitby 4-2 Marske 23 Sep Marske 1-2 Marine 16 Sep Lancaster 4-1 Marske (FAC2QR) 9 Sep Matlock 5-0 Marske 2 Sep Ossett Utd 0-3 Marske
Marske overall since 1 Sept 2-0-8 Reds overall since 1 Sept 6-1-4
Marske have the worst defence in the league, conceding 39 goals in their 13 matches. Reds have the second worst record, conceding 29 in their 13 matches. With only 4 points collected from 6 away trips, Reds would welcome getting something from this trip. Let's hope that the recently improved form Marske have enjoyed comes to an abrupt halt.
Come on you Reds

A disappointing result last night luckily we have a short break now to hopefully get some bodies back (Symington and Smith are huge misses for us).Watching the managers interview you can see he is as upset as the fans and im expecting a few players on their final chance with us in the next week or so. Finally watched some of the live scoreboard last night and had to switch off, some of the comments from so called supporters are childish and embarrassing, following the reds has never been easy and probably never will be but cheap shots on the scoreboard, at games or on social media isn't going to help the situation. Looking forward to next game now ,this league is ultra competitive and as our friends at Macclesfield are finding out not always about throwing money at things,a club needs built up over time, surviving this season is the main aim

Spot on westworld, i bet these so called fans moaning on the scoreboard never watch the reds. with 5 first team players out and goose just retired, last night was going to be hard. We really do need to sign an experienced centre half to replace goose.

Danny sounded really frustrated & angry in his interview last night. I couldn't make the game but the comments about idiots on the live scoreboard are totally correct.
We need 3 experienced players bringing in - I'm sure some of the kids have a good future in the game but this is an unforgiving league & we need a centre half, a midfielder & a striker, all of whom have seen it & done it. Easier said than done of course & Danny has his work cut out on the recruitment front.

Lets all accept with the spine of the team ravaged through injury etc Smith Carroll Reilly Dav and not forgeting Goose. At any level you dont have that many replacements-with that experience sat on the bench. Even in last years League it would have been a struggle at present. Fact is Reds were in the game for majority of time, yes finishing was the difference and maybe a touch of luck was missing. At times like this is when the players need the fans to encourage and support them not criticise individuals, leave that to-the Manager behind closed doors. This season was always going to be one of consolidating the club in this league never about romping away so lets appreciate what we have - a well run club who deserve the support of every fan even though there will be disappointments along the way, thats football.

Easier said than done of course & Danny has his work cut out on the recruitment front. Looked for you last night Ray as I expected you to be there. It’s probably as close to home for me as any game involving the Reds will ever be! I’d echo the comments already posted on here. Firstly, the “supporters” on the live scoreboard calling for Danny’s head really need to give their own heads a shake. This league is much harder than the last time we were in it. There are good teams with much bigger budgets and not just Macclesfield. The Reds were the better side in the first half but failed to convert two good chances. Marske scored on the stroke of half time, capitalising on our Achilles heel of failing to deal with a corner. The second half was a different story and we were poor. We huffed and puffed but rarely looked like getting back into the match. Danny’s comments reflected this and his frustration and disappointment was clear. I think that it is already evident that this is going to be a season of ups and downs. We need a fully fit squad to be competitive and IMO a mid table finish would represent an acceptable season of solidification at this level, particularly given the injury situation. Whilst our best eleven is good enough to give any team in this league a game, hoping for a play off place is a dream at the moment. There is going to be a lot of disappointment if some people don’t rein in their expectations!

Well done Paul. It can't be easy juggling work, home and the Reds. He carries out a lot of work behind the scenes. The club shop online and website to name just two. Thanks Paul

Please let us ALL just get behind the Club Manager and team, now is when everyonessupport-is needed.
We cant buy our way up the table but supporters can encourage belief in the team and be that extra man whether at the ground or on social media.Leave any negativity for after the game rather than in the heatbof the moment
