Another match. Another draw. This time without goals though. The first time this season Reds have been involved a 0-0 result. Again, probably a good point added to the collection. No time to dwell though, straight on to the next fixture and the visit of Ilkeston Town. We went to Ilkeston on 19 August for the 3rd match of the season and suffered what to date, is our heaviest defeat of the season. A 6-1 thumping.
Reds are 14th with 28 points from 22 games Ilkeston are 9th with 33 points from 22 games
Reds at home 5-3-2 Ilkeston away 5-1-5
Recent Ilkeston results: 16 Dec Ilkeston 3-1 Marske Utd 9 Dec Gainsborough Trinity 0-1 Ilkeston 2 Dec Marine 0-0 Ilkeston 28 Nov Ilkeston 1-4 Guiseley 25 Nov Ilkeston 3-1 Stafford Rangers 21 Nov Ilkeston 2-2 Ashton Utd 18 Nov Morpeth 2-1 Ilkeston 11 Nov Ilkeston 0-1 Rylands 4 Nov Atherton Collieries 2-3 Ilkeston
Reds overall since 1 Nov 2-6-1 Ilkeston overall since 1 Nov 4-2-3
Despite putting six goals on Reds back in August, Their tally has only risen to 38. Four goals less than Reds have scored this season. However, they do have a much tighter defence conceding 32 as opposed to Reds' 48.
Since losing at Morpeth, Ilkeston have only lost once in their last 6 outings. Reds are undefeated in their last 7 outings. Reds are 9 points of the play offs but 12 points clear of relegation.
Reds have lost only twice at home, but Ilkeston have lost 5 times on their travels. Let's hope Santa can bring a bundle of Reds' goals and three points from this one.
Best wishes to all of you on here, and indeed all associated with our wonderful club for the festive season.
Come on you Reds

Good grief. Ilkeston where absolutely the worst side I've seen this season. Totally clueless. How did we loose six nowt early in the season? Anyway, well done to the lads and I hope we had no serious injuries. Roll on Boxing day.

I thought Little was going back to carlile city My guess with Jordan is he was an emergency dual reg due to injuries but has done so well that Reds now fancy keeping him. Plus our injury list seems to keep growing. Fair doos to Jim Nichols and Carlisle City. Seems keen to push lads on and into reds rather than just keep them for his own side.

Excellent , well deserved win against a disappointing side. Reds played with class and confidence and really got stuck in. Pleasure to watch such an entertaining game. Well done Reds!
Happy Christmas to all the players, managers. directors and Reds fans.

As well as the deserved credit that goes to Players and management, a special thank you to the Directors who have supported Danny G by allowing him to bring in players to cover for the horrendous injury list.

Great performance and well worth the win. At least we got the usual conceeding from a corner out of the way early to give ourselves time to recover. All the more impressive given the team was packed with loanees/kids/both and our current injury prediciment
