After another free weekend, Reds pick up the action again with a visit of promotion challenging Warrington Rylands. The second meeting of the season between the two teams. Rylands won the reverse fixture on 10 October 1-0. Since Reds last match at Radcliffe, the league table has been amended to reflect the resignation of Marske Utd. I am sure we all wish Marske the best with their efforts to rebuild at a lower step.
The season will therefore now be reduced to 40 matches with Marske's record being expunged.
Reds are 14th with 32 points from 25 games
Rylands are 2nd with 48 points from 25 games
Reds at home 6-4-2
Rylands away 5-7-0
Recent Rylands results:
13 Jan Rylands 1-0 Whitby Town
6 Jan Ashton Utd 0-0 Rylands
1 Jan Rylands 2-3 Macclesfield
26 Dec Marine 1-1 Rylands
23 Dec Rylands 1-1 Atherton Collieries
16 Dec Radcliffe 2-3 Rylands
9 Dec Rylands 7-2 Stafford
25 Nov Rylands 1-1 Basford Utd
18 Nov Rylands 2-1 Worksop
11 Nov Ilkeston 0-1 Rylands
4 Nov Rylands 0-1 Guiseley
Reds overall since 1 Nov 3-7-3
Rylands overall since 1 Nov 5-4-2
Rylands trail Radcliffe by six points and have played two games more. But they are six points clear of 3rd placed Marine. Rylands two most recent away trips - Ashton and Marine have ended in draws.
The amended table means Reds defence has improved :-) Now only the third worst in the league. (Previously second). Conversely, Reds now have the second best attack having score 52 goals, ten behind Radcliffe.
Reds are still the only team in the league to have been involved in 100+ goals over their 25 games.
Rylands are yet to lose a game on their travels. All good things come to an end as we well know. Reds have only lost twice at home in 12 matches so far. Could this be Reds' opportunity to bring Rylands' undefeated run to an end?
Come on you Reds.
