It seems unfavourable weather conditions did not detract from a good football match last Saturday. Although 2-0 up at half time, a 2-2 result would have probably been accepted before KO, given that Rylands are undefeated on their travels. Next up we welcome Whitby Town to Borough Park. Back on 25 November the reverse fixture finished 1-1 with a late equaliser by Joe Bunney. As it turned out, this was the first of what was about to become six consecutive draws.
Reds are 13th with 33 points from 26 games Whitby are 8th with 38 points from 23 games
Reds at home 6-5-2 Whitby away 7-3-4
Recent Whitby results: 13 Jan Rylands 1-0 Whitby 1 Jan Whitby 3-0 Ilkeston 26 Dec Morpeth 0-1 Whitby 23 Dec Whitby 1-1 Marine 19 Dec Whitby 1-0 Stafford 16 Dec Atherton 2-3 Whitby 2 Dec Basford Utd 0-1 Whitby 28 Nov Lancaster 2-1 Whitby 25 Nov Whitby 1-1 Reds 21 Nov Radcliffe 0-1 Whitby 18 Nov Whitby 2-0 Bamber Bridge 11 Nov Macclesfield 2-1 Whitby 7 Nov Hyde Utd 1-2 Whitby 4 Nov Bristol Rovers 7-2 Whitby (FAC1R)
Reds overall since 1 Nov 3-8-3 Whitby overall since 1 Nov 8-2-4
Whitby have a better away record than at home They are one of only two teams to win at Radcliffe
Reds are 3rd highest scorers in the league with 54. Behind Radcliffe 65 and Marine 57 Whitby have only scored 36 goals
Reds have the 3rd worst defence in the league conceding 57. Behind Stafford and Atherton on 60 Whitby have only conceded 28 times. Joint 2nd best defence in the league.
Reds are 11 points adrift of a play off berth, and 16 points clear of relegation.
At home, Reds have only lost 2 from 13 fixtures. On the road, Whitby have won 7 from 14.
Lots of stats in this one to compare, but hard to suggest a forecast. Let's hope Reds can take something from the game.
Come on you Reds

I thought Casson was our best player today in midfield and also in defence - hope we can keep him in the team. Thought a draw was probably a fair result, but we could have won it at the end with that chance for Dav. - great save from the keeper.

What was Sam's red card supposedly for then? I was walking round to the bar and missed the biased ref making the decision, saw him flashing the red card mind.
In a plus side, my lad was as the other BP today supporting Bolton as the CRUSHED the scum up the road.

Second was for being in the same postcode as someone chucking themselves over and squealing when they could've stayed on their feet and got in behind us. Ref and his linesmen were absolutely awful in the second half. We were decent, but a shade short of our best. Both sides missed a couple they should've scored from. We still could've won it at the death through Dav and then Atkinson's audacious effort, but a draw probably just about fair. Casson looked like his old self again, MOTM by a country mile for me.

He hates that lot nearly as much as me.

I'd rather that pack of tossers and their plastic fans get relegated than reds get promoted. Football is about thriving on the pain of others. Surely you know that? Or maybe your not a real supporter?

Completely agree, nothing summed up yesterdays drubbing better than West Cumbrian lad, Kyle Dempsey, scoring and immediately making a B-line for that lot and shushing the plastic twats

Laughable comments on here, from where I'm standing the two clubs appear to have a good working relationship. How many youth players do Reds sign from them, how many ex Carlisle players have been Reds managers. Do you hate Sam Hetherington or Kai Nugent who are/have been excellent for Reds. By the way, it's a myth that Carlisle voted Reds out of the league, I heard it didn't happen straight from the mouth of an ex Reds director at the time. Plus, plastic fans are the local Premier League Sky TV fans who never set foot inside Borough Park, we all know plenty of Carlisle fans who are regulars at Reds games and have been for years. Anyhow, isn't this a thread about Reds v Whitby?
