The unregistered charity, known as Working Reds made another donation last weekend. A disappointing home defeat to a struggling team. Another slide on a banana skin. There are plenty of games where we can understand a defeat. There are many tricky fixtures in this higher level league. It is always much harder to take when we lose to strugglers though. There will always be the occasional slip, but why does it happen so often? Anyway, we move on with a trip to Lancaster who are knocking on the play off door.
Lancaster are 8th with 45 points from 28 games Reds are 15th with 34 points from 29 games
Lancaster at home 7-5-3 Reds away 2-4-8
Recent Lancaster results: 10 Feb Ilkeston 2-3 Lancaster 3 Feb Lancaster 1-0 Matlock 27 Jan Bradford PA 2-3 Lancaster 13 Jan Lancaster 0-4 Hyde Utd 9 Jan Lancaster 1-2 Radcliffe 6 Jan Macclesfield 1-2 Lancaster 1 Jan Lancaster 3-2 Atherton 26 Dec Bamber Bridge 2-1 Lancaster 23 Dec Lancaster 0-0 Worksop 16 Dec Stafford 2-4 Lancaster
Lancaster overall since 1 Dec 6-1-3 Reds overall since 1 Dec 2-7-4
Since being turned over at home to Hyde, Lancaster are now three wins on the bounce, and only three points adrift of a play off position.
Lancaster's scoring record at 43 is the lowest in the top ten. They have conceded 39. Reds current goals record is 54-61.
Reds are 14 points adrift of a play off berth, and 14 points clear of relegation.
The reverse fixture at Borough Park played on 26 September finished 2-1 to Reds
Reds haven't won away since 18 Nov at Basford Utd. Since then it has been six games on the road without a win which suggests today's game could be another in the tricky basket.
Come on you Reds

And of course the Lancaster manager & the many ex Reds in his squad will be well up for this one... Let's hope we are. Getting a bit nervous after last weekend. Bottom sides picking up some great points here and there too. Our run in towards the end of the season is very tough so we need points on the board asap

We need an experienced centre half in asap or we are going to be dragged into a relegation fight. Its no good relying on 4 or 5 17/18 year olds when the heat starts.

Sam and little are both decent but that is all we have. Any injuries, unavailability etc and it's contingency plans. Wonder if O'Brien will be back again? We should have tried to bring in Simon Grand as a player assistant manager after he decided to leave Lancaster.

Played ok. Should have won. Had 3 disallowed for offside!. Dav finally equalised on 85 mins and their keeper made 2 great saves from Rigg and Jordan at the death. Lancaster decent but can never understand why they don't get more fans, they will struggle going forward unless can find another person putting his own money in At least 200 Reds there , maybe 250.

A typical wet February day in Lancashire and This was not a game for the soft centred fans, very physical game not helped by some ineffective control, by the officials. Whilst a draw may overall have seemed a fair result Reds came on in the last 15 minutes and could or should have won it. On reflection the introduction at halftime of Riggy made Reds more threatening while the defence stood firm, their goal was down to an unintentional mis placed pass so cant be to critical. Reds are established now in this league and with tweaking for next season could be challenging because one wondered how Lancaster were 8th in table

Poor decisions by the linesman seem to have cost us this game ,hopefully take this performance into the next game and finally get 3 points. The Lancaster radio commentary had Charlie Barnes as their mom, Carlisle lad could he be someone to look at for next season

Former Carlisle trainee, I think played in same youth team as Casson, was at Annan last season.
