I think the timing of the announcement is all wrong. Not only kills the season, but also will hit the gates of the remaining home games. No one has any incentive. Danny has mentally gone, senior players will be more likely to hang up their boots, loanees will want to go back to their parent clubs and existing players will be looking at other options for next season. It's a recipe for a meltdown and I only hope we have enough points in the bag to comfortably secure our current status (Danny obviously thinks so). I think it would have been better to keep the announcement under wraps until the final game. Not sure I agree. If Danny waits until the end of the season a new manager coming in us unlikely to be able to make a decision on which players to keep and which to let go. If any of the loan signings become free agents it will also enable them to make a decision on them and if there wage demands are reasonable should they want to sign for Reds. Reds are playing for position now. Very unlikely any of the bottom 4 will catch our current points total and I'd like to think we will pick up a few more. Playoffs almost impossible given our run in. Given Danny's struggles to recruit maybe a new manager may help in our squad transition. I think we need to have a huge push for extra income to allow for a few extra travelling players until we can get more Cumbria based players in the squad. Having lots of out of county players needs to be a short term fix though imo.

Just wondering what a 'real fan' is. Well, if you have to ask...... Don't you have to be called Keith to be a 'real' fan?

Having lots of out of county players needs to be a short term fix though imo. You're right we need to generate more income. Think Danny leaving was partly due to budget constraints. We know we don't have the facilities to easily raise money and do rely heavily on match days to raise the revenue. We do however have supporters groups that contribute a huge amount something most other clubs at this level don't have. They have probably raised an average of 30k plus a year in recent times and fingers crossed we are on course to increase that by 10k+ a year due to our recent SC monthly draw recruitment drive. This money makes all the difference and its only down to a handful of folk. We could do with more folk helping though and are looking for extra collectors. We have a very generous fan base as the Budget Booster proved and its something imo we should be looking to run again. As a club should always be looking to improve and gain promotion otherwise what is the point and providing the manager with a decent competitive budget is key.

After witnessing that dross this afternoon Danny leaving cant come soon enough. Mark Fell has certainly got food for thought tonight after that performance.

Danny has done a great job to get us promoted and keep us up in this division, something that was not a given when we were losing 6-1 at Ilkeston. Definitely there are things he can be critised for (jamie devitt signing etc) but he has always cared about the club and i think he will be a big miss for us but we seem to have recruited well to replace him.

Agree.
It's a no brainer.
To keep your reputation intact, and go out with your pride and dignity intact do the right thing for yourself and resign now, your demeanour after the game was very sad to see, clearly not in a good place.
You would leave with total respect and many thanks for your professionalism and commitment from all Reds fans for your four years in charge!
Mark Fell to start the job now.

Yeah I think Danny has been frustrated a bit in the NPL. He knows the huge task ahead to rebuild the squad and he also knows our budgets are probably nowhere near high enough to compete with the top 6 given the current lack of local talent and our geographical position. I think today's post match interview he hints at our inability to keep Joe Bunney, Pani and probably a few other players.
Whether we like it or not we have to realise until we can find the next generation of Allison, Tinnion, Goose etc we are going to find this league much tougher and or expensive.
For an ambitious manager like DG, managing an NPL side and languishing in the bottom half of the table for several years just isnt going to help his CV at all.

Watched that interview and it seems clear that he would have liked more money for the better quality players over the last few months although the club canโt just be expected to find funds and build up debts. The sooner the stadium carry on is sorted the better as again yesterday we pull in a great crowd but donโt really have the facilities to capitalise. On the plus side we are getting a manager who obviously knows our budget limits but also has a greater knowledge of other players expectations and is quite happy to work within it

Total respect to DG, but he wasted funds on Devitt.
A risk that did not work out.
