Anyone any ideas or heard any rumours who could be interested in taking the job? Looking at our current ageing squad I think we need a management team that can attract some travelling players, but who is committed to playing the right kind of football and bringing through young Cumbrian players.
I think with DG gone, next season's remit will be to once again avoid relegation and start to rebuild the squad and replace those who may retire or leave.
Terry Mitchell a possibility?

The new manager has got a big job on his hands as we only have a squad of 15 players, not counting the 4 young lads on loan. Talk on the terrace has it that 3 players are looking to retire at the end of the season and if some of the travellers leave the new man could be faced with bringing in up to 10 players and we know the problems Danny has in that area.

I think there will be a lot of interest but need someone with a long term plan, expect ex Lancaster boss Mark Fell to fancy it , maybe Mark Birch ,Jamie Devitt or even Paul Huntington might be tempted

What a bloody cut thoat business football management is. Gutted that Danny is leaving as he has been one of the best managers we have ever had. Here we go again in the elusive search for someone who is committed to stay at Workington Reds. Remember when Tommy Cassidy and Skelton left and now Danny! The King is dead--long live the King.

Paul Huntington not a bad shout, what about Paul Murray?
It needs to be someone who has plenty of contacts.

In my opinion it must be someone who can bring in 7 or 8 players straight away. Not sure Devitt, Huntington etc will have the right contacts for this level. If the squad was largely intact then I'd be happier with one of those guys getting it. Perhaps someone like Fell could nick us a couple of Lancaster players but I don't know what his style of play is like? Simon Grand may fancy it too?

mark fell was manager at lancaster for 5 years. He recently resigned due to a breakdown of relationship with his chairman. The fans were gutted to see him go. He turned down the offer of a new job with another club and lancaster offered him a new deal which they went back on making his position untenable. My mate lives in lancaster seen them play at giant axe a few times over the years playing decent football. Marks says he was on£100 a week and that was when he got paid it.

Forgot to add Edmo as a possible already working in the county probably jump at the opportunity.
