A very successful trip to FCUM added another valuable three points to the kitty. At 41 points, and 17 points clear of relegation it should be pretty safe to say that Reds will play at this level again next season. Many teams below Reds have games in hand, but Basford in 18th with 24 points and Bradford PA in 19th also with 24 points have played 32 matches - same as Reds.
And so Reds host Hyde Utd having now won two games on the bounce. Hyde's win over Atherton on Saturday was their first win since beating Reds in the reverse fixture.
This fixture was originally scheduled for 2 December. Back then it would have been Reds' first home game since 21 October. Alas, it succumbed to the weather at the time, but the stats were....
Reds are 14th with 24 points from 18 games
Hyde Utd are 5th with 32 points from 19 games
Reds at home 5-0-2
Hyde Utd away 4-0-5
Reds are 11th with 41 points from 32 games
Hyde Utd are 2nd with 56 points from 32 games
Reds at home 7-6-3
Hyde Utd away 7-3-6
Recent Hyde Utd results:
2 Mar Hyde Utd 3-2 Atherton
24 Feb Whitby 2-1 Hyde Utd
17 Feb Hyde Utd 1-1 Stafford
10 Feb Basford Utd 0-0 Hyde Utd
3 Feb Hyde Utd 2-0 Reds
27 Jan Morpeth 1-5 Hyde Utd
20 Jan Hyde Utd 5-0 Bradford PA
13 Jan Lancaster 0-4 Hyde Utd
6 Jan Marine 1-4 Hyde Utd
1 Jan Hyde Utd 2-2 Ashton Utd
Reds overall since 1 Jan 3-4-3
Hyde Utd since 1 Jan 6-3-1
Reds are 12 points from a play off berth and 17 safe of relegation.
Hyde are in a tight battle for a play off berth. Whilst currently 2nd they could lose ground if the teams around them win their games in hand. As such, Hyde will be keen not to drop any points.
Reds win over Matlock Town at Borough Park in the most recent home fixture was their first home win since 23 December and I am sure they will be keen to extend the winning run.
Hyde Utd have been to Borough Park already this season and scored a 1-3 victory in the FAT3QR match on 7 October.
Has all the makings of a good game.
Come on you Reds
