That was shocking again tonight. Penrith could have had 5 or 6. The only time reds looked anywhere near was when Dav dropped into midfield.
Trialist who played rwb looked decent and so did the 11 who I think might be Bell from cleator Moor Celtic.
For me tactically it isn't working yet. Don't think Mark Fell was there tonight but I'm sure hel be starting to question if some of the players are upto this system.

What was our line up ?
How many trialists were there ?
I am assuming the rwb mentioned by popside was Barnes again, if so get him, the loanees & 2 or 3 more in asap or it is going to be a long season.

He was the young lad who played more as a forward or wide player in the Carlisle city game. Rigg scored our goal in injury time when we were 0-2 down.
Rumour is Barnes will go to Annan.

Might be wrong as wasn't there don't think many where new trialists.
We've struggled against west lancs and northern league teams each time we have played them, fell said the result isn't important but the games I have seen the footy was terrible.
Carlisle we kept really good shape and did ok rest we have been horrendous. Hope things change soon.

Our new signing Wilkinson hobbled off after a heavy collision too. Seemed to be upper body. Hopefully not a cracked rib or anything more serious.

On the plus side the Cheeseburgers were ok for £3.00. My highlight of the night.
Johnnie Jamieson came on as a sub in the second half.

Realistically this season will be one of consolidation and new foundations. You cant lose 4 long established stalwarts plus another couple of regulars and the Manager and expect instant success.
You have got to trust the Manager and his team accepting the limitations a club like Reds face in terms of both location and finance.
Remember last night was not the first eleven but a mixture of trialists who probably barely knew each other in a different system.
Whether the system needs tweaked one will see but dont panic yet

The problem from what I have seen so far with the odd exception is that the "trialists" are not good enough I'm afraid.
Surely the manager can see this & should be acting with the greatest haste to rectify this issue.
If it is loan players then get them in asap so that they can get used to the system we are playing

Very frustrating but still early days yet and I’m hopeful that we will be very competitive on Saturday against morecambe. We are obviously very short on full squad numbers and the young lads and trialists are making up the numbers to enable us to not overplay the first teamers this early. Problem for those lads is they would probably impress in the full team but are struggling with the amount of them used at once
