G'day everybody. Welcome to the 24/25 season. As always, there has been much pre season anticipation and excitement around the new campaign. A new manager. New players. New hope. I'm sure many will recall the opening game of last season which was a 5-0 win at home over Ashton Utd. The opening game this season sees Reds on a road trip to Guiseley. Coincidentally, our final opponents of last season when they visited Borough Park on the last day, 27 April. A 2-1 victory to Reds. Last season we visited Guiseley on 11 November where we scored three times but went down 4-3. Despite Reds' equalising in the 58th minute to make it 3-3, Guiseley scored their 4th goal in the 70th minute and took the three points. It was Reds' 6th defeat on the road from their opening 8 away fixtures. Guiseley were on a good run at the time, making that game their 11th on the bounce without loss. Stats at the time were: Guiseley were 7th with 23 points from 14 games Reds were 14th with 19 points from 14 games Guiseley at home 4-1-2 Reds away 1-1-5 Last season's final table: Guiseley 10th with 61 points Reds 17th with 44 points Guiseley at home 10-2-8 Reds away 3-5-12 Here's hoping we can get the season off to a good start. Come on you Reds

I'll take a 4 - 0 win for reds this time. No need to be greedy.

Bit disappointing there has been no new additions announced prior to this one.
Still 4 short of being a really good team IMO, that said still really looking forward to this season starting tomorrow at guiseley.
Anything above 17th would be progress with an average attendance of 800!!
Let's go.

I was there the last time we played Guiseley on the opening day of the season. Alan Cook was the manager and he had signed an ex-Sunderland forward. We were full of expectations and went 2-0 up within ten minutes. We then were awarded a penalty which the new signing missed and we went on to lose 6-2. Long journey home.

Hard watch that today, no real game plan just lumping fwd to 6' 5 CBs and didn't win any 2nd balls!!
Men against boys at times, don't think there keeper had a save to make.
Really short of quality, crying out for a LB!

Not great. Worked very hard and well organised but lack quality going forward. Created very little. Dav playing to deep for me. They are a decent team tbf but plenty room for improvement from us. Good away support maybe 70 but little to get excited about.

Thought 1 or 2 nil to Guiseley was about right. Mitchell played well, but as said above I can't recall their keeper making anything like a serious save. Ironically after our best 5 minutes of pressure Guiseley went down the pitch and scored their second. Guiseley looked good going forward and were pretty nippy, causing the back line problems throughout. I'm far too long in the tooth to read too much into the first game but it was all a bit scratchy. Wasn't sure if Dav was supposed to stick or twist - he's so key to everything. Work to do

Couldn’t make the game today but not looking too much into today’s defeat. The reds, according to all reports, were facing a well drilled, organised and a very threatening team on the break.
Due to circumstances we have mulled over many times, we have a new manager, an almost entire new team and those new players and the established players are playing a new formation….
Very much a work in progress but I’m, along with many others, very optimistic.
