Seven debutants out of 14 players used on Saturday and two more making 2nd debuts (Mitchell & Nugent) so reasonable mitigation for a disappointing result.
However I think that our future opponents will be delighted if our (far and away) major goal threat from last season continues playing in centre midfield.

Not a fan of our 352 shape for this very reason. I don't think Dav does well in a front 2 either so unless we played a 433 or maybe a 442 with wingers we may not see the best of Dav. Hoping to be proved wrong but from what I seen in pre season he was slightly better on the left of the middle 3 than he was through the middle up top

Got to play Dav upfront wide left where he will do most damage. we seem to have signed 6 centre halves, still short of a central midfielder and a striker.I would revert to 433 and play mitchell, stephenson little swinglehurst galloway, casson hubbold nugent, allen rigg symington against lancaster. mark fell seems stuck on 3 centre halves and wing backs which means Dav playing more in the middle and not making best use of your best player.
