Not the best week Reds have ever had. Two away trips to the bottom two clubs in the league. Both of them looking for their first win. Less said the better. Onwards and upwards. Back to Borough Park and a visit from Bamber Bridge.
Reds are 14th with 9 points from 9 games Bamber Bridge are 15th with 8 points from 8 games
Reds at home 2-4-3 Bamber Bridge away 1-1-2
Recent Bamber Bridge results: 11 Sept Bamber Bridge 4-2 Prescot Cables 7 Sept Hebburn 5-1 Bamber Bridge 4 Sept Newton Aycliffe 1-1 Bamber Bridge (FAC1QRr) (5-3 pens) 31 Aug Bamber Bridge 1-1 Newton Aycliffe (FAC1QR) 26 Aug Bamber Bridge 2-3 Guiseley 24 Aug Ilkeston 2-1 Bamber Bridge 21 Aug Ashton Utd 0-0 Bamber Bridge 17 Aug Bamber Bridge 0-0 Worksop 14 Aug Bamber Bridge 1-2 Hyde Utd 10 Aug Whitby 1-2 Bamber Bridge
Bamber Bridge won their most recent match - their first victory since the opening day of the season. A run of 8 games without a win. They also exited the FAC in the 1QR, although they did make it to a replay.
Reds have won only once in the last six fixtures.
Perhaps it's a good thing that they won last time out given our week.
Last season this fixture was played on New Year's Day with the outcome being 2-2.
Struggling to come up with more info for this one. Like many fellow supporters, feeling pretty disappointed about the recent two defeats.
But...as ever....Come on you Reds

Big game tomorrow night and whilst points would be welcome, it is more important that Reds put on a performance for the whole 90 minutes for the supporters. Good feeling Reds can turn the corner on Tuesday so hopefully ALL supporters will back the team 100%

Makes you realise how much one misses Paul &Livescoreboard when not able to be there Thanka as always Paul. Absolutely - think it was Joni Mitchell who sang "You don't know what you've got till it's gone". Mind you, on the basis of the first half, probably a good night for Paul to miss! 😭😭

Game was lost in the first half, but the formation change in the second half and we played a lot better. Let's ditch the 352 or whatever it is please.

First half was as bad as it’s ever been and hopefully the manager will admit his error in team selection, second half a lot brighter so let’s see how we approach Saturday’s game. Hope Efe Ambrose isn’t on a contract but was quite impressed with Norris. Tom Stephenson best on the night for reds

Another shocking first half display, sat back allowed bamber on to us then tried to hit on ther counter with horrendous route 1 football. Bamber were first to every ball and scored a coupe of good goals playing through us!!
2nd half, changed formation, got at them, kept the ball down or played it into good areas and created alot more opportunities..
Although delivery was still not great and every corner we had couldn't beat the first man
I would keep that formation next game if I'm honest
Dav looked a different player out wide, Tom caused them issues. Just looked alot more of a threat.

Yet more complete & utter garbage. No creativity, chances, shots or even a corner in the first half we only started to play with 20 minutes to go. Symington & Stephenson the only bright sparks with Nugent looking lively in the short time he was on. The manager needs to start to accept that playing 3 at the back & playing hoof ball until it is to late isnt good enough & in my opinion unless we change this then he needs to take full responsibility & do the right thing & resign.

A game of two halves but the damage was done early on. Were now 9 points worse off than last season and only out of the drop zone by virtue of having played more games than the rest.
First half was disgraceful with the all too familiar flaws in the 3-5-2 system exposed again. Caught in the channels time and again and no outlet out wide. I’d be amazed if that isn’t Hubbolds last game either. To hook him and Tom Wilkinson (who MF spent all preseason and early season bigging up) on 35 minutes was disgraceful and it’s obvious who his scapegoat is!
Second half was much improved when we switched formation and shows the difference when you have full backs and wingers pushing on and overlapping. Dav looked back to his best once he moved out wide and it’s great to see him back among the goals. Tom S and Kai looked really lively from the bench too.
I’m sorry to say though, I’m now firmly in the Mark Fell out camp. The first half was the final nail in the coffin for me. Personal opinion is that the second half performance was down to the players and not the manager.

That first half display at home has been the norm this season, takes us a good 30 minutes to get going. Still not good enough second half, created nothing clear cut off our own accord. Not sure where we go from here, but the attendance tonight speaks for itself fourth lowest league attendance since September 2021.

The first half was dire alright. Yes we improved in the second but BB still had more clear cut chances. It is HUGELY disappointing. Dav did get a goal, but that was down to his determination and talent and had nothing to do with Fell and how the team was playing. We definitely did not play hoof ball in the first half, I don't know what people think hoof ball is, but the first half wasn't that. Really, the lack of chances is what really worries me. We are going down at the moment.
