Totally disagree with this post about Ambrose he has brought calmness and skill to the defence, lost count about the number of key interventions he made today.

Thought the manager got his subs bang on and the best team one. Small improvements over the last few weeks and long may it continue.

I hope you are right and like I said Jury is still out. I didn't have a great view so will have to wait for the highlights and check but it looked like he got done a couple of times today. Their goal seemed too easy, and in the 2nd half they missed a sitter where he got beaten (possibly nutmegged) far too easily.

A decent result against a decent Morpeth side who caused us some problems in the first half especially. They had 2 ruled out for offside and opened us up far too easily.
We seemed to huff and puff for the majority of the game until the introduction of Tom Stephenson and Hubbold. Prior to that old habits seemed to kick in and there was still a lot of launching it long from the back. Tom especially caused them all sorts of problems with his running out wide.
Not convinced by playing Ambrose and Swinglehurst together; Jordan Little needs to be in the centre for me. I think we could get undone quite easily against a better team with a bit more pace and guile. Also while you can’t knock Norris’ work rate and intelligence personally I don’t think his legs can do what his head wants and he’s that split second too late off the mark; he’d be far more effective off the bench.
Riggy was my MOTM again; tireless running, hold up play and great to see him get bag two goals. Early contender for player of the year for me.
All in though a good days work. More £ in the bank and some momentum building.

The narrative about long ball is amusing, every time they played out from the back yesterday 1st half they gave it away - we’re not Man City! I’ve seen every game bar one this season as my lads involved, they played out more yesterday than any other game - the most success they had was getting in behind! The goals come from runs into the channels - WIDTH - that most were screaming for in a 3-5-2, some will never be happy.
Played well, won, 3 on the spin - let’s give credit and get behind felly and the lads. By the way his tactics and subs were spot on yesterday.
Disagree with Norris, he’s still quality, sets up the first goal by running in behind (you think his legs don’t work?) what about the one he chased down and kept in by tackling the defender on the line 2nd half which created a chance? Did you even watch the game??

Did you even watch the game?? I think there is a time and a place to go long. And in previous seasons under DG we almost never did and got caught out way too many times as a result. Since the switch to 433 under MF I feel like we go long when it's on OR when playing out is too risky. We still play when we can but as stated we aren't Man City and we have to find that balance. I've really enjoyed the games since we ditched the 352 and I've said from the start our squad is much better than last season and SHOULD be able to compete and get us into the top half. I think 1 or 2 players lost a bit of confidence early on in the season but hopefully thats behind us now and we can start and get some really positive results. Some tough fixtures up ahead though but "easier" ones haven't suited us over the last few seasons.

Can’t argue with that result we have enough talent in that squad to push on from this, very big league game next week and hopefully another home tie in the trophy

The narrative about playing it 'long' is interesting. Define 'long'; is it lump it forward and hope someone gets on the end of it. The first goal was from a 'long' ball or a 50 yard 'pass' bisecting the fullback and centre half into the path of the runner (Norris). The second goal was from the alertness of Tom Stephenson to steal the ball, beat a man and put in a cross the was begging to be planted into the back of the net. The third goal was another 'long' ball or as I would like to think, put into the space behind the defenders for Riggy to chase. His finish was excellent. We have players who can play the 'long' balls into the channels/space behind and we have two excellent runners in Norris & Riggy who can get onto these balls.

It's not about long ball football. Or playing out from the back football. It's about winning games. Nothing else matters. Losing is not entertaining and last season was, for long periods, not good to watch. I can't believe that anyone would be bothered how we play if we win. Get a grip people.

Don’t want to complain too much but the match highlights of the game from the Morpeth site ( filmed from the popular side) seen such better quality than ours

Don’t want to complain too much but the match highlights of the game from the Morpeth site ( filmed from the popular side) seen such better quality than ours The highlights quality is a limitation of the Veo system, it uses two wide angle lenses to span the full length of the pitch and stitches the two images together. The output of the recording is in 4K, however, after the video is processed, the resolution gets lowered to 1080p HD due to zooming and panning being added to follow the action on the pitch (more zoom means fewer pixels per frame).
