The undefeated run was broken with a late penalty at Hyde Utd. That was a 4th consecutive away defeat in the league and unfortunately condemns Reds to the worst away record in the league. Things don’t get any easier with another tough road trip to Stockton who defeated Mickleover 3-0 on Saturday and lifted themselves into 4th. That victory was their 5th on the bounce and extends their winning run in the league to three. Stockton haven’t lost in the league since their somewhat surprising home defeat to Blyth on 18 September.
Stockton are 5th with 22 points from 13 games Reds are 15th with 15 points from 13 games
Stockton at home 4-0-2 Reds away 1-0-5
Recent Stockton results: 19 Oct Stockton 3-0 Mickleover 15 Oct Bamber Bridge 1-5 Stockton 12 Oct Rylands 1-3 Stockton 9 Oct Stockton 3-1 Crook Town (Durham CC) 5 Oct Blyth 0-2 Stockton (FAT3QR) 1 Oct Chester 1-0 Stockton (FAC3QR) 28 Sept Stockton 1-1 Chester 21 Sept Gainsborough 1-1 Stockton 18 Sept Stockton 0-3 Blyth 14 Sept Stockton 3-2 Marine (FAC2QR) 10 Sept Lancaster 2-1 Stockton 7 Sept Stockton 0-1 Macclesfield 31 Aug Stockton 1-0 Widnes (FAC1QR) 26 Aug Stockton 2-0 Whitby 24 Aug Hyde 4-1 Stockton 20 Aug Morpeth 2-1 Stockton 17 Aug Stockton 3-2 Prescot 14 Aug Stockton 3-1 Guiseley 10 Aug Leek 0-2 Stockton
Stockton overall this season 11-2-6 Reds overall this season 6-3-7
Aside from the Blyth slip up, the only other team to win at Stockton was league leaders Macclesfield.
This looks like a tough trip for Reds but maybe we can do a ‘Blyth’ on Stockton? Must be a while since Reds played a midweek fixture on a Wednesday?
Come on you Reds
Preview coming from Wellington, NZ.

Unacceptable result and by the sounds of it performance. The 11 we had out should have been able to compete despite a very young bench. Heard that we reverted back to 3 CBS which has not worked all season. With Dav out injured and obviously expecting a very tough game given Stockton's form, I can see the logic in this but it just does not suit us. Our CBs are not mobile enough to cover the spaces left by the wingbacks and we don't look like we know what to do with it in the final 3rd.
In my opinion we need a quality CB desperately. As well as more competition for places. But it's the age old struggle for us finding the right ones willing to join us.

Every team gets a hiding, but to get a hiding with no fight or desire to put a foot in on the opponents is what’s worrying
Other than mitchell, swings, both of the allens & riggy nobody on the park looked remotely interested. The fact that all the players and coaches were trudging off without even acknowledging the fans til Riggy pulled them & turned them round speaks volumes
Tonight was a free hit when you see how weak our side was but a reaction is needed ASAP, and to have a side out who actually wanna be there

Regardless of the injuries, the side that started last night should not have been 4-0 down inside 50 minutes. If they had lost after running out of steam and having to bring young lads on at the end then that’s almost acceptable but the game was done long before they even came on.
MF’s favoured formation is 3-5-2, we all know that and it was only a matter of time before he reverted back to it. He had the personnel to play 4-3-3 / 4-2-3-1 last night and keep up some of the recent momentum but instead opted to revert to type and look what happened.

Really think we missed out big style when we failed to sign Charlie Barnes in the summer, would have been twice the player than Ambrose has been and probably worth whatever he was asking. Has only been on bench at Annan so I’d be making big enquiries

I couldn't make the game last night but I'm really interested in the manner, in which, Stockton navigated our defence. Was it long ball, did they get in behind or did they play through us?
The team sheet put on X highlighted we were going to play 3 CB's and Wingbacks from the start. This can only be down to the injuries because 433 had been reasonably fruitful up to last night.
It is refreshing to hear a few young lads got minutes last night and it is absolutely critical that local talent gets screened, nurtured, and invested in because however many marquee players we bring in from afar, at a substantial cost, we need and want local homegrown talent to not only make the travelling squad but to be the very first names on the team sheet..! Just like Dav

Agree we really need some local lads to come through. I believe one of the youngsters who came on was a 3rd generation Reds player , son of Craig and the grandson of Ian Johnston. Would be great if he served the Reds aswell as his Dad and Grandad, both fantastic servants and players.
