It wouldn't be unreasonable to suggest the wheelnuts have become a little dislodged. After putting together a handy run of 4 victories on the bounce, it is now 3 defeats on the bounce. The first two maybe not unexpected, but to drift out of another cup competition at home would be the most disappointing. Things don't get any easier with the return to league action bringing high flying Worksop Town to Borough Park.
Reds are 16th with 15 points from 14 games Worksop are 2nd with 28 points from 14 games
Reds at home 3-3-1 Worksop away 6-1-0
Recent Worksop results: 26 Oct Worksop 2-0 FCUM (FAT1R) 22 Oct Worksop 0-2 Morpeth Town 19 Oct Worksop 2-4 Hebburn Town 12 Oct Ashton Utd 2-3 Worksop 8 Oct Worksop 1-2 Prescot Cables 1 Oct King's Lynn 0-0 Worksop (FAC3QRr) (4-3 pens) 28 Sept Worksop 1-1 King's Lynn (FAC3QR) 24 Sept Worksop 3-0 Worsbrough Bridge Athletic (Sheffield & Hallam Senior Cup) 21 Sept Guiseley 1-2 Worksop 17 Sept Mickleover 0-4 Worksop 14 Sept Worksop 6-3 Basford (FAC2QR) 10 Sept Worksop 2-0 Ilkeston 7 Sept Leek Town 0-4 Worksop
Reds overall since 1 September 4-1-7 Worksop overall since 1 Sept 8-2-3
Although Reds have a decent home record, Worksop are yet to lose on the road. With 6 wins and a draw, they, along with Macclesfield have the best away record in the league. Worksop have the best attack in the league with 34 goals. They have the second best defence (behind Macclesfield with 10 against) of 14 conceded. They have the best goal difference in the league with +20.
Worksop away league fixtures only since 1 September: 12 Oct Ashton Utd 2-3 Worksop 21 Sept Guiseley 1-2 Worksop 17 Sept Mickleover 0-4 Worksop 7 Sept Leek Town 0-4 Worksop
Other than losing only 1 game at home, it is hard to find any stats that suggest this game will be anything other than tough. I can only offer the line about the longer it is since your last defeat, the closer you are to the next one.
Come on you Reds

Great result. Apart from Galloway the starting line up were all under 20 or over 30, over 40 in Chuck’s case. Well done young and old.

With 7 first team players out, thought losing 3-0 would have been a good result. What a fantastic effort by all our players to win that match, Should shut all our moaners up for a week.

Very proud of the players and all the staff. Mark must feel vindicated after that performance. Such a shame that we had "that" ref. Kai should never have been sent off but I can't imagine us winning an appeal.

That was everything brilliant about going to Borough Park. We looked at it from the off, dragged (a very good) Worksop side into a battle and got the crowd into it straight away.
We fought well, ran hard and as the second half wore on, started playing some really good football. For all Worksop's possession, we were disciplined and won everything in the air.
Swinglehurst, Ambrose, Allan and Fitzpatrick having their best games for Reds, Hetherington and Nugent both putting in MOTM performances and the youngsters off the bench slotting straight in.
Chuck in the usual awful performance from that ref from Carlisle, and his mate Bernard and the other liner to get the crowd extra aggressive and it made for an excellent couple of hours entertainment.

And them lads that are bringing the young lads on are going a great job

Kai should never have been sent off but I can't imagine us winning an appeal. What was he sent off for? Did the ref even show a card? Looked like he had a yellow in his hand, then just started pointing Kai towards the dugout. Cue confusion all round...

Well, didn’t expect that when I saw today’s team sheet but fair play to the lads. Sometimes work rate triumphs over ability; Worksop were a shadow of the side that came here last year.
Still not convinced long term that we’ve got anything like a coherent game plan but taking 3 points off second place means that’s an argument for another day.
Riggy was outstanding again, the young lads all ran their socks off and Swinglehurst had his best game yet for me; he was a rock at the back. Great to see young Alfie McDonough get some decent game time, I thought he was excellent for a 16/17 year old kid. These are the games they need to develop in, not dead rubbers when we’re 5-0 down.
We’ve now got 3 away games against teams below us and then Macc at home. Let’s take stock of where we are in December before we start getting carried away.

Having listened to Mark Fells post match interview, whatever you think of his style of football, he is a real football man, tells it honestly and open with his thoughts his hopes and ambitions. It is easy to forget where Reds have come from since the end of April 24 , still a long way to go but if the team and squad can achieve an element of consistency Reds will make the steady progress all fans want

Fantastic victory against the odds, Worksop are a very good team but the lads dug in, rode their luck and got stronger as the game went on. Good performances across the team , Swinglehurst was excellent organising at the back and another big shift from Rigg. Pleased for Galloway today hopefully getting his confidence back and Sam Hetherington a deserved man of match. As for the Carlisle referee the least said the better. Great crowd and even better atmosphere

Circumstances meant that I was unable to be at the game yesterday, but having been critical in recent weeks, I wanted to acknowledge an excellent result.
To be able to win against good opposition, with a number of key players missing is a real achievement. Three points gives us a bit of breathing space and hopefully as players return we can start to pick up points and stabilise in mid table.
Credit also to the manager for his post match interview. He came across much more positively and spoke well about the performance, the players and the wider situation.
One or two comments on here and on social media, suggest those that have been critical would be disappointed. I can’t speak for everyone, but I can assure you that I am absolutely delighted to see us win.
