Reds get a midweek opportunity to get the wheels back on following the disappointing result at Gainsborough. The only remaining cup competition for Reds is the CCC and it is 2nd round time. Once again, cup draws have looked after us and we were given a home fixture. This time v Whitehaven. This will be the second meeting between the teams this season. Reds opened their pre season program with a friendly at Whitehaven on 2 July. The result was 2-1 to Whitehaven. Reds are 15th in NPL Premier with 18 points from 16 games Whitehaven are 15th in West Lancashire League with 12 points from 16 games www.nonleaguematters.co.uk/divisions/81/Reds at home in the league 4-3-1 Whitehaven away in the league 0-1-7 Recent Whitehaven results: 9 Nov Whitehaven 1-6 Tempest Utd 2 Nov Haslingden St Mary's 4-0 Whitehaven 26 Oct Whitehaven 1-2 Coppull Utd 19 Oct Tempest Utd 4-0 Whitehaven 12 Oct Whitehaven 3-0 Lostock St Gerards 5 Oct Rossendale 3-1 Whitehaven Coincidentally, Whitehaven's away record in the league is very similar to Reds (1-07) current away record. As with Mirehouse in CCC1R, this should be an opportunity for a run out and to score some goals. Come on you Reds

Another disappointment. Sounds like Whitehaven deserved their victory! Pleased that I did not go to watch this disaster.

I was there and we had Eccles, Galloway, stephenson, Clarke, theo, mccarron who are classed as first team players plus two ex scholars from Pro clubs...
There should have been enough in that team to beat a team bottom of the West lancs!
First half was crap 2nd half miles better.
Positives: Crowd Donahie Routledge And the 8 seemed OK
Negatives Not sure about the new centre half didn't look comfortable all game. Fell was not even there.
Whitehavens 10 kian goulding bossed the game..
Unfortunately another disappointing evening

Without sounding disrespectful to Whitehaven, who were very worthy winners, a last seasons makeshift 11 would have given a better account of themselves than the Lineup last night.
Whitehaven play in a league 4 levels below NPL... A considerable amount of our players are nowhere near where we want them to be.

Joecocker61 asked if I went to the matches. I have been going to see the Reds for the past 65 years so feel that I am well entitled to pass judgement and comments. How long have you been going? At least I was lucky to have seen class football and players at Borough Park and fell very sorry for youngsters who will never see the likes again. Where was our beloved manager last night? Probably thought all Reds had to do was turn up to win the game against such so called lowly opposition. Just shows you how wrong you can be. We are a poor side by this reckoning and do not make excuses for absent players. Bloody pathetic really!!!

Been going since 61 and if you think we have 14 players to replace those mentioned you are living on another planet.

This season is already proving oneof the most challenging Reds have faced in years and that was before the injury crisis decimated the squad further. one feels for Mark Fell it just keeps getting harder Its right that folk have their own views BUT at the moment it is essential that everybody pulls together to get us through this situation.
