The mighty Reds played away....and won! In what was really a must win game, they did the job, A very welcome 3 points on the road and the title of worst away record in the league is handed over to Blyth. Next up is a home fixture - the first one since 2 November (Reds 2-1 Worksop), and the first midweek league match at Borough Park since 17 September (Reds 1-2 Bamber Bridge). In fact, those two games are the only two midweek league fixtures played at home this season so far. Reds are 14th with 22 points from 18 games Basford are 11th with 23 from 18 games Reds at home 4-3-1 Basford away 3-1-4 Recent Basford results: 23 Nov Basford 1-1 Prescot 16 Nov St Albans 1-2 Basford (FAT2R) (£3750) 13 Nov Basford 2-1 Stockton 9 Nov Basford 3-4 Whitby 2 Nov Rylands 3-0 Basford 26 Oct Basford 1-1 Anstey Nomads (FAT1R) (2-1 pens) (£3000) 19 Oct Matlock 3-2 Basford 12 Oct Basford 3-2 Bamber Bridge 5 Oct Basford 2-2 Hanley (FAT3QR) (3-2 pens) (£2450) 2 Oct Basford 0-2 Guiseley Reds overall since 1 Oct 4-2-4 Basford overall since 1 Oct 3-3-4 Basford have only played two away fixtures in the league since 1 Oct, losing them both. Their most recent league victory on the road was 28 Sept with a 0-2 win at Blyth. Basford have an extended interest in FAT having reached 3R. They host Halifax Town on 7 Dec. That game guarantees another £1250 into their coffers, and could be £4500 should they win. Thanks to the much needed win at Mickleover, Reds now have a 5 point gap from relegation. With a solid home record - 7th best in the league - another victory could see Reds elevated into the top half of the table. Come on you Reds

Completely outclassed a poor team that just came to take advantage of a weak ref and kick us off the park.
Probably the best I've seen Galloway, Swinglehurst and Allan play. Rigg, Nugent and Hetherington a constant threat.
If we'd taken our chances, it could well have been 5 or 6 nil tonight.

Wow, what a game, a fast paced encounter with two great goals from Jamie Allen and Steven Rigg.

Great game tonight, really enjoyed it, 100% comittment across the pitch and some standout performances, swinglehurst, Galloway and of course Steven rigg but everyone played their part. Great to see Cieran Casson back as well plus Jordan little in the warm ups. Let’s hope we have now turned the corner, well done everyone

Worthwhile trip down from Glasgow to enjoy a great performance from the Reds tonight. I thought Galloway , Swinglehurst, Allan, Nugent best players , but everyone had a good night. Nice to keep a Clean sheet. Would appreciate any update on the injured players when possible .

Played really well I thought and managed the game easily apart from a spell in the 2nd half were basford started to get on top.
No complaints how we played, went long when needed to but also really good playing on the deck.
MoM for me was Galloway hasn't lived up to pre season performances but last night was best I've seen him play.
All players at least a 7/8 last night, and that's with 8 still out injured.
Hopefully we can replicate that performance on sat, I'd be happy with a point to keep an unbeaten run going.
But Mickleover proved that macc CAN be beaten.

Love our first goal, talk about turning defence into attack. Hetherington beats his man on his own goal line and then picks Riggy out, great stuff.
