Following today’s meeting with the FA the main points are:
Looking to start all leagues at step 1-7 in September (if possible) All leagues to start at the same time No matches to be played without spectators Looking to run a full FA Cup and FA Vase (if possible) Start subject to DCMS approval FA working on several different scenarios for start of season but consider September most likely and January worst case. No promotion to fill vacancies if clubs go bust ( leagues will run one short) Will consider applications to pyramid to fill vacancies (eg Bury)

No promotions to fill vacancies if clubs go bust. That's the last vestige of hope for Reds gone. Nobody wants to see clubs folding - though I might be prepared to make an exception for Pontefract- but in a scenario where say 5 NPL Premier Clubs go the wall, there would still be no promotion for Reds or anybody else. The FA really isn't fit for purpose.

I have a quick look through the details of the meeting, it says possibly county and league cups may not take place, let's hope they just finish last season's competitions ,they may make meaningful preseason games at the very least

The real question will it be affordable to the lower league clubs ? Has the virus been beaten ? will there be so many boxes to tick ?
It may ok for Premier League players to be carried in people carriers by chauffeurs but Northern Premier? Unreasonable to expect players to drive themselves to midweek games in Winter. Bar /Food takings well how do you keep to even 1 metre plus in a lot of clubhouses at halftime and come November you will not want to be-stood outside in a gale/ heavy rain with your drink
I wait to see the F A guidelines but I fear they will be based on London and Home Counties realities rather than the rural areas of the country.

The devil will be in the detail - lets hope its affordable to clubs at all levels and they have the ability to generate extra income from bar takings etc.

The bbc website talks about restart in October but everything I can find googling talks about early-mid September. Hope it’s September for non league where social distancing is easier

I'd expect the govt to see how the trials go, it would become a no brainer for lower league football to start earlier if there have been no spikes.

If football at this level has to be played, it has to be in front of fans even if that means a season starting in October.

When football starts again with spectators the premiership are talking 40 percent of stadium capacity. That would give BP around 1400 max.

I dont think crowds will be a problem. Players could be. 32+ individuals all from different families. All coming in contact with each other.

Saturday 19th September for steps 3 & 4 according to the FA guidelines published today. The problem at the moment is that public gatherings are limited to 30 under social distancing so spectators would be prevented from attending. However it would be pointless for the FA to make this announcement if talks to solve the issue weren’t at an advanced stage as in its original plan the FA stated that non league football couldn’t start without spectators.

Is anybody any clearer on this? I saw 19th sep for start of league but 12th for FA cup preliminary round. Does this mean our 1st competitive match could be in FA cup ? Also still a bit confused why they talk about sep if stadia can’t be opened until October - are they assuming this will be relaxed after trials or something ?
