Some midweek league fixtures had an effect on league positions. These included a defeat for the Rams at Clitheroe and Pontefract being thumped 6-2 at Colne. Comment in general would suggest that Pontefract are not as good as they were last season. Let's hope that is the case on Saturday.
Our league campaign is put on hold for a week as we embark on this season's FAT. Given our early exit from FAC, hopefully we can pick up some $ in the Trophy.
Pontefract are 17th with 2 points from 5 games Reds are 5th with 12 points from 6 games
Pontefract at home in the league 0-2-0 Reds away in the league 1-2-0
Recent Pontefract results: 13 Oct Colne 6-2 Pontefract 6 Oct Pontefract 1-1 Marske 3 Oct Ramsbottom 3-0 Pontefract 29 Sept Tadcaster 3-0 Pontefract 22 Sept FCUM 6-2 Pontefract (FAC1QR) 19 Sept Pontefract 1-1 Runcorn 12 Sept Hebburn Town 2-2 Pontefract (FACEPR) (3-5 pens)
Pontefract overall 0-3-4 Reds overall 4-3-1
Pontefract are yet to find a victory this season. Reds have won 3 on the bounce and are undefeated in five games.
Winners receive £3000, and place in FAT3QR, losers £775. With £1000 going to the losers in FAT3QR, a win would bank us £4000 minimum. And we must be due a home draw in a cup competition? FAT3QR matches are scheduled for 31 Oct meaning our league fixture at Ramsbottom that day would be postponed.
This match will be played to an end including penalties if required. Come on you Reds.

I really do hope that we beat this horrible team. I know that their manager from last season has departed but they were the diriest team I have seen for a long time and after throwing beer over our Reds fans and the chairman's comments shows what a disgusting side this is. So come Reds beat the buggers and collect £3000. We will all be routing for you.

Impressive win today against what sounded like poor opposition who did not deserve to score in the 94th minute!. So well done to the Reds. Look forward to Tuesday's game which will be tough. COYR

Comfortable win against a team low on confidence and in truth we never had to get out of 2nd gear. Pontefract much changed from last season and did try to play football at least instead of rugby probably helped by the pitch having some grass on it! Good to get Tinners and Dav game time and although we've been winning without them always feel Reds are a better side with them in it, so Danny got a selection headache for Tuesday where we'll need to be at our best to get a result
