A terrific 1-4 victory in the FAT at Pontefract sees Reds make it 4 wins on the bounce. This includes a 0-1 win in a tough game at Colne. Another tough game tonight v high flying Clitheroe who won 0-1 at league leaders Dunston in the FAT on Saturday.
Reds are 5th with 12 points from 6 games Clitheroe are 2nd with 14 points from 6 games
Recent Clitheroe results: 17 Oct Dunston 0-1 Clitheroe (FAT2QR) 13 Oct Clitheroe 3-1 Ramsbottom 10 Oct Runcorn 1-1 Clitheroe 6 Oct Mossley 1-3 Clitheroe 3 Oct Clitheroe 2-2 Trafford 26 Sept Clitheroe 1-0 Prescot 19 Sept Brighouse 1-2 Clitheroe 12 Sept Warrington Rylands 1-0 Clitheroe (FACPR)
Reds at home 2-1-0 Clitheroe away 2-1-0
Since losing their opening fixture of the season in the FAC, Clitheroe are unbeaten.
Reds overall 5-3-1 Clitheroe overall 5-2-1
Paper would suggest this will be a tight game. Reds abd Clitheroe have matching goals records of 12 scored and 6 conceded. Of the top six, another big game tonight with Markse 6th v Ramsbottom 4th.
Clitheroe will not appreciate the long midweek trip to Borough Park, so here's hoping we can make it five on the bounce in an early season '6 pointer.' Come on you Reds.

Reuben Jerome - A conundrum wrapped in an enigma. MoM - Danny Grainger for his "chat" with Reuben at half time!

What a thoroughly entertaining battle last night where we emerged as victors. It was fantastic to get the winner in the last minute of injury time and once again it just shows the tremendous calibre of the team of players that we have. Clitheroe were a very good, skilled side and it was really important to beat them as there is no doubt that they will be in the play offs at the end of the season. The referee was also good as she kept tthe game flowing as it is always difficult for a female to exercise control in a male dominated sport. So well done Reds and good luck on saturday. So proud to be a Reds supporter! COYR

Two really good teams for this level. Thought we probably just about deserved it after the second half performance.
Encouraging that we've got to this position already with Symington and Tinnion being limited to just a few minutes so far.

How was our keeper?
... and is he signed or was it a one off?

How was our keeper? ... and is he signed or was it a one off? We definitely need a understudy

Fair play to Clitheroe I thought there were a really good side if a little direct but they were away from home. First half felt like Kendal 2.0 that we would get in the box over and over again and somehow contrive to miss every chance, Carroll had an Air kick and an Air Header about 2 minutes apart. When it went to 1-1 I thought we'd go on to win easily as we'd been well on top but Clitheroe battled back into the game well and it really could have gone either way. Both side got one chance each to take the 3 points, their was just wide and our was taken, that in the end was the difference. Reds werent at their best at all most of the game but it was a tough game and they had to work hard for the 3 points, you could see and hear that in the ground when the winner went in and at full time, everyone was buzzing.
