Be amazed if Barrow dont go for an appointment with experience and track record in this and National League Jim Bentley would be my choice.

Only surprising thing about this is that he was ever appointed. I pointed out at the time he was statistically the worst manager in Oldham's history, and he leaves Barrow with a full managerial record of 7 wins in 46 games, with 2 of those victories coming in a 4 match caretaker spell at Blackpool. Stealing a living.

Appointed Michael Jolley. Ex Burnley youth team coach who had a mixed spell of results as Grimsby manager. Highly regarded as a coach in this part of the world.

We all know coaches and Managers are two different animals and the reality is few are successful as Managers. The proof of the pudding for Managers is the league table. Rob Kelly ex Rovers had a good result on Saturday with Barrow 3 0 against Cheltenham but he didn't want the step up.

The main reason Jolley lost his job at Grimsby was because of an expletive loaded rant at a local radio journalist live on air! He is certainly more highly qualified than Dunn, who seems to get jobs on the strength of his 1 England cap many years ago.

Yes Jolley used the F word over 50 times in a 4 minute interview, but realising he may have jeopardised his future in the game he negotiated with the current chairman John Fenty to leave by 'mutual agreement' thus not having the word sacked on his CV. As it was when the deed was done the chairman proclaimed he would not have sacked him over what he saw as a minor infringement. Grimsbyred

Grimsbyred So the radio interview led to his leaving Grimsby - which is the point I was making.
