G'day All,
It's been a long time between drinks. How good is it to have Reds back and a new season to look forward to? Sadly the 2020/2021 season was terminated on 24 Feb 2021. The 2019/2020 season was terminated on 26 March 2020. Thankfully, there are rules in place as to what will happen should the 2021/2022 campaign also be cut short. This has to be progress given the way we were shafted two years running. Here's hoping that the rules are not required and a full season can be completed. Also hoping we finish on top!
Our league has undergone some changes, we have lost some previous opponents but welcome some new ones this year.
Kidsgrove join us from NPL South East.
When the 2020/2021 season was terminated, they were 4th of 20 with a record of 5-1-1 from seven games. 16 points When the 2019/2020 season was terminated, they were 10th of 20 with a record of 11-6-10 from 27 games. 39 points
When the 2020/2021 season was terminated, Reds were 3rd of 19 with a record of 5-4-0 from nine games. 19 points When the 2019/2020 season was terminated, Reds were 1st of 20 with a record of 22-5-4 from 31 games. 71 points.
Reds haven't lost a league game since 25 January 2020. A 2-0 defeat at Ramsbottom. The Rams boss at the time takes charge of Reds today.
It will be a few weeks before stats become relevant, but in the meantime, come on you Reds. Bring the points back from Kidsgrove.

Great to have the season start again, more optimistic after last week's performance and I am starting to warm to the new manager, a good start is essential and I would take any sort of win which would set us up for a good Tuesday night turnout for our first home game

I mean Ash, that's an optimistic prediction and very much one of hope over experience where Reds are concerned. We'll see.

Good to have the previews back Peter. Trust you've not been too badly affected by the Oz lockdown process.

Great to have you back Peter. I note the good recent form from Kidsgrove over the last couple of seasons. I would probably take a draw at the moment but always hope for a Win. We had a relatively slow start last season with a couple of draws against unfancied opposition.

Great result and start to the season. So well done Reds and am looking forward to Tuesday's game after such a long absence. Wonder why Scotty never came on. Is he still not match fit after his recent shoulder dislocation? He is a class player and hope to see him play on Tuesday night.

COYR Yes, understand Scotty is not yet 100% so no surely rush to bring him off the bench if we are winning a match?
