Another win on Saturday keeps our 100% league record in tact. Top of the league with 5 wins from 5 matches, could be time for someone who has more stats than me to check if this is our best ever start to a season?
For the 3rd time in 4 games, we find ourselves in a 1st v 2nd clash. Both teams are undefeated in the league this season. After failing to win any of their first 4 outings, Trafford have now won 3 on the bounce. Those three victories have come against teams who currently lie in the bottom 8 of the league.
Trafford were 14th with 7 points from 7 games when last season was ended, although they were undefeated at home in their three games.
Trafford are 2nd with 11 points from 5 games Reds are 1st with 15 points from 5 games
Trafford at home 2-1-0 Reds away 2-0-0
Recent Trafford results: 4 Sept Trafford 3-0 Widnes 30 Aug Trafford 1-0 Glossop NE 28 Aug Bootle 2-3 Trafford 24 Aug Colne 2-1 Trafford (FACPRr) 21 Aug Trafford 2-2 Colne (FACPR) 17 Aug Leek Town 2-2 Trafford 14 Aug Trafford 1-1 Colne
Trafford overall since the start of the season 3-3-1 Reds overall since the start of the season 5-1-1
This will likely be a tough midweek encounter for Reds. Can we make it 6 from 6? Come on you Reds.

Not confident at all for this one, especially if Dav is missing. We have got through by getting ahead in games early or from free kicks and having something to defend which is vital when you havent got a strong bench to call on.
Amazing to think we have 15 points with such a catastrophic injury list.

Will not be easy but this is Reds and in Chris W as Manager they have a real winner who knows the game at this level.
Defence will again be the key but Reds have goals in the tank so staying positive

That said, Trafford's opening games have been way easier than ours, they haven't faced anyone in the top half yet.

In the circumstances a excellent result. Also to come back twice shows the character in the side. Rigg game time a bonus.
Pleased for Reuben will do his confidence a world of good. The way he was hobbling on Sat. I did not expect him to play.

Indeed. Yet another game we would have lost in past seasons. Surely we'll get some easier games soon?

Pretty much a home game for me only 4 miles away. Thought we were decent first half but didnt really create much clear cut or really test the keeper. Trafford are another one of these pacy sides and we struggled a bit against them, you can see that this is a team of recent recruits with some playing out of position. Trafford scored 2 good goals and ours were basically set pieces and that was our main threat all game, only problem was the ref failed to give us any other than the Penalty and Freekick we scored from. Really good point though, we just need to keep going no other of the top side has had such a hard start to the season as us, both in terms of the opposition we have faced and the mountain of injuries.
2 Home games next and a trip to Widnes, even if we could get 1 or 2 back to strengthen the Bench it would be a massive help
