Sounds like a hard earned point at Trafford midweek. Top teams don't always win stylishly. Some results have to be ground out and it seems as the Trafford game was one of those. A small dent in our goals conceded column, but a point added to the unbeaten collection is much appreciated.
Back to Borough Park as league leaders and hosting Leek Town
Reds are 1st with 16 points from 6 games Leek are 11th with 7 points from 5 games
Reds at home 3-0-0 Leek away 2-0-1
Recent Leek results: 7 Sept 1874 Northwich 0-3 Leek 4 Sept Leek 0-2 Mickleover (FAC1QR) 30 Aug Market Drayton 0-1 Leek 27 Aug Leek 0-1 Runcorn 21 Aug Gresley Rovers 0-2 Leek (FACPR) 17 Aug Leek 2-2 Trafford 14 Aug Warrington Rylands 2-0 Leek
Reds overall this season 5-2-1 Leek overall this season 3-1-3
Leek didn't have a good start to the league season, collecting only 1 point from their first three matches. They have gone on to win the next two - both away from home, and didn't concede a goal. Whilst their mid table position would suggest this is an easier fixture than our recent run, their current away form is very good - albeit against two teams who are in the lower half of the table.
Other fixtures of note today: Clitheroe (2nd) v Runcorn Prescot v Rams (3rd) Warrington Rylands (4th) v City of Liverpool 1874 Northwich v Marine (5th)
Hoping our squad is boosted by returning players and we can retain our 100% home record. Come on you Reds

I have to say I was disappointed with dropping the 2 points in a game we seemed to have in our control although Leek Town will cause problems for a lot of teams and will be up near the top as the season goes on. Again we look in general disjointed and desperately need our strike players back as soon as possible, a big mention to Brad Hubbold again who has been at the centre of all our creative moments and also Matty Clarke who constantly got forward. Another massive game on Tuesday and let's hope a few more are back in what will be a key 3 points even at this stage of the season. Lastly a fantastic crowd of over 670,great to see especially a great turnout from the children and parents of whitehaven amateurs, attracting new people is a key to long term success
