Rams looked like being our main challengers for the last two curtailed seasons. Their manager during that period, Chris Willcock is now in charge of the Reds. He still holds the position of being the last manager to be in charge of a league victory over us. That was on 25 January 2020 when the result was Rams 2-0 Reds. 18 months since then unbeaten is not a bad record
Reds are now one of only two teams (Trafford) who remain undefeated in the league this season. Reds are still top of the league, but can be overtaken by others with games in hand.
Reds are 1st with 17 points from 7 games
Rams are 7th with 13 points from 7 games
Reds at home 3-1-0
Rams away 2-1-1
Recent Rams results:
11 Sept Prescot 2-1 Rams
7 Sept Rams 3-1 Colne
30 Aug Mossley 0-3 Rams
28 Aug Rams 7-1 Market Drayton Town
24 Aug Kendal 1-2 Rams
21 Aug Barnoldswick Town 5-4 Rams (FACPR)
17 Aug Rams 0-3 Marine
14 Aug City of Liverpool 0-0 Rams
Reds overall this season 5-3-1
Rams overall this season 4-1-3
After a slow start to their season, Rams went on to win 4 on the bounce, scoring 16 goals. That run was halted on Saturday when, despite Jamie Rainford equalising with a penalty, they conceded a second goal in the 89th at Prescot.
Other significant midweek fixtures:
Clitheroe v Marine (2nd)
Mossley (5th) v Trafford (3rd)
Bootle v Runcorn (4th)
Reds battled through despite injuries to hang on to a 1-1 draw v Leek Town on Saturday. Hoping that we start to get players back and we can field a strong team in this game. Suffering theit first away defeat of the season on Saturday, Rams will be keen not to fail again. Another 600+ crowd would be very welcome.
Come on you Reds.
