This will be the first free midweek of our season so far. Chance for some of the injuries to heal and return maybe? Another 3 points added to the tally last Saturday at Widnes and we have an opportunity for 3 more v Northwich this weekend. It's not a full program as it is FAT1QR weekend and some teams from our league are involved.
More mature age fans will remember 1874 Northwich as Northwich Victoria. They were a powerhouse non league team for a number of years before things went south. 1874 were founded from the ashes of the old club in 2013.
Reds are 1st with 23 points from 9 games Northwich are 14th with 8 points from 8 games
Reds at home 4-1-0 Northwich away 1-1-1
Recent Northwich results: 14 Sept Northwich 1-1 Newcastle Town 11 Sept Northwich 0-2 Marine 7 Sept Northwich 0-3 Leek Town 4 Sept Lancaster 1-0 Northwich (FAC1QR) 30 Aug Runcorn 1-0 Northwich 28 Aug Northwich 4-1 Kendal 23 Aug Market Drayton 0-1 Northwich 21 Aug Wythenshawe Town 1-2 Northwich (FACPR) Walkover 17 Aug Northwich 0-3 Kidsgrove 14 Aug Clitheroe 2-2 Northwich
Reds overall this season 7-3-1 Northwich overall this season 3-2-5
Significant games today: Clitheroe (2nd) v Leek Markey Drayton v Mossley (3rd) Warrington Rylands (4th) v Marine (6th)
Reds are still undefeated at home and have managed to collect points with a stretched squad. On paper this doesn't look too tricky. Northwich are without a win in their last five. In fact, their two victories of the season are against the bottom two teams in the league. Despite being the sole undefeated team in the league, Mossley could still overtake us with their two games in hand, so it is essential that we keep on accumulating points. Here's to another three this afternoon. Come on you Reds.

Not worried about Mossley, they have had a really easy start, especially when compared to our own. Their only win against a top 10 team was beating Trafford at Home. So they will have some very tough games to come, they haven't played any of the current top 10 away for example.
Presume the 1 player definitely back is Atkinson but Eccles did well at Widnes, though we did miss Jim's distribution.

Very disappointed that Reds could not get it together today in front of a good gate. The only player who can make things happen went off with a hamstring injury-it was all down hill and boring after that. Should have pressed on and won the game but some of the forward players looked clueless and never looked like scoring. Good to see Tinners fit again. Bad day at the office!

Disappointing second half performance where we let a team who looked totally beaten at half time totally dominate the second half and we were hanging on at the end, shows how important Brad Hubbold has been as we looked clueless when he went off ,hopefully players will be returning soon but am I being a bit over inquisitive wondering why the 3 players who all seem to have come together (Jerome, gooden and Lawrence)are all missing together

Having 46743 injuries already this season, then having to play people out of position and constantly field brand new players who probably haven't had any kind of pre season or match practice caught up with us.
Disjointed, short of ideas and in the case of a couple, running on fumes.
Just a bad day at the office (two tidy goals aside). Hopefully we have a few coming back soon.
Good to see Tinnion and Goose back in the squad. I thought the young lad on loan from Carlisle grew into the game too.

It shows the standard we, as supporters, have set the team. To be in the position we are considering the injuries we have had, being unable to play a consistent starting 11 and the manager not having a full pre season with squad is amazing.
We will not walk this league and have got to tough it out until all the squad are fit. Then play a settled starting 11. This is where we as supporters have to support and drive the team on. The atmosphere at BP today was awful today. It's completely different at away games. So what do people expect to achieve by slagging the lads? Yes it was a disappointing second half performance but at times Northwich had that little bit of luck and how many 50-50 decisions went their way? A poor performance by the ref who probably broke the 10m sprint World Record to give them their penalty. But credit to Northwich, they played well in the second half and deserved their point.
Top of the league, unbeaten and a manager who tells it how it is. Compare his interview on Radio Cumbria to that of Chris Beach. No comparison.
