Updated after Marine midweek win
Whilst Reds will have had two weeks to reflect on the 2-4 defeat to Runcorn, Mossley went to Runcorn a few days later and won 0-4 before going to Hyde Utd in FAT3QR and winning 1-2. I recall a comment earlier in the season on a match thread saying they weren't worried about Mossley. Wonder if they have changed their mind now? With Marine defeating Trafford 2-1 midweek, Reds have been pushed down to 3rd.
Reds visit Mossley who are undefeated in their last six games and sit proudly at the top of the league. Perhaps we can find something in their home record to hold on to where they have lost twice.
Mossley are 1st with 31 points from 13 games
Reds are 3rd with 28 points from 14 games
Mossley at home 4-1-2
Reds away 4-2-1
Recent Mossley results:
30 Oct Hyde Utd 1-2 Mossley (FAT3QR)
26 Oct Runcorn 0-4 Mossley
23 Oct Kidsgrove 1-3 Mossley
19 Oct Irlam 1-2 Mossley (Manchester Premier Cup 1R)
16 Oct Mossley 0-0 Clitheroe
9 Oct Mossley 3-1 Ossett Utd (FAT2QR)
2 Oct Mossley 0-3 Warrington Rylands
28 Sept Mossley 3-2 Leek Town
25 Sept Market Drayton 1-7 Mossley
Mossley overall since 1 Sept 11-1-2
Reds overall since 1 Sept 5-4-3
Other significant fixtures today:
Market Drayton v Marine (2nd)
City of Liverpool v Leek Town (5th)
Runcorn (7th) v Trafford (6th)
Warrington Rylands (4th) v Clitheroe
This will be a tough outing for Reds today. Mossley have had 4 away fixtures since their last home game, and won all of them. Aside from the late victory over Whitehaven in CCC, Reds haven't won since the 1-3 at Glossop on 2 Oct. Since then it is 0-1-3 (not including Whitehaven). Goes without saying that our form needs to turn around quickly, otherwise our attempt at winning the league this season - and without any major cup distractions - could become very difficult.
Come on you Reds.
