I'm not from the 'How did we not win that' school. I saw a game between two of the league's leading teams who knew it was an important game, but where genuine chances were few on both sides. Dav rattled the advertisements behind the goal in the first half, and Jim had one relatively easy save to make from a poor finish in the area. Defences were generally getting the better of things. We were much better in the second half (as in many of the games I've seen this season) and had a prolonged period where we really went at them. It was really good stuff, but was often let down by the final ball or cross, as well as several blocks from defenders. The penalty was pretty poor, both in its direction and strength. I did think that if anyone was to score it would be us, but it was not to be. And with both goalies having quiet games, it says a lot really. They seemed to realise that Dav was a danger, and often had two defenders on him. Sam had a header go wide towards the end. Agree with earlier comments that Mattie had one of his best games, especially going forward.
It's still in our hands, but any advantage we had, is slipping away.
