I would suspect most of us would have accepted a draw at Leek Town prior to KO, but given the match comments, it looks like we should have had a win. We are now two games without a win, or even scoring a goal. Crisis? Probably not, given that despite these slips, we are still in charge of our own destiny. This table thefishy.co.uk/leaguetable.php?table=277 lists the form over the last ten games. It is quite amazing to see so many green 'W' at the top, with the current top four only involved in 10 games of 40 that they didn't win. Now is not the time for a wobble, so hopefully we can resume our winning habit against Trafford.
Reds are 3rd with 66 points from 29 games
Trafford are 9th with 47 points from 31 games
Reds at home 10-3-2
Trafford away 4-5-6
Recent Trafford results:
12 Mar Trafford 0-1 Kidsgrove
5 Mar Trafford 2-1 Mossley
26 Feb Rylands 4-1 Trafford
22 Feb Hyde Utd 2-1 Trafford (Manchester PC SF)
12 Feb Trafford 0-2 Marine
5 Feb Trafford 2-0 Runcorn
Reds overall since 1 Jan 7-1-2
Trafford overall since 1 Jan 4-1-6
Trafford's last win on the road was 29 Jan with a 0-4 at Market Drayton. Prior to that was 2 Oct 1-5 at Kendal. As such, on paper, they shouldn't be too much of a concern. We all know that games are not won on paper though.
Current top of the league using played, points and goal difference:
Rylands 32 71 +46
Marine 30 68 +26
Reds 29 66 +36
Leek 31 66 +32
Other significant fixtures today:
Rylands (1st) v Market Drayton
Glossop v Marine (2nd)
Leek (4th) v 1874 Northwich
With Rylands looking like they have a free hit, and opportunity to further improve their goal difference, Reds need to win to stay with the pack.
Will the disappointed 1000+ crowd that watched the disappointing loss v Widnes come back? Let's hope so. And even more so hope that Reds put on a show for them at the second time of asking. Come on you Reds.
Although I am Centenary Club Member, there is no last bus home for me, so I won't be there on Friday evening. Hope it is a great night and that all who are attending enjoy themselves.
